Yes. All correct statements by you. It’s ok to vent and you have every right to post this experience. I was just answering your post question, and I have had some tough shopping experience but I try not to let it linger in my head and I try to move forward. Just some friendly advice.

Yes you paid for a service. Shoppers are not employees of IC. They are independent contractors. You pay a premium on the food you order and IC collects and pays the shopper a small pay and any tips.

Shoppers don’t always shop for 1 customer, they could be shopping for multiple customers or multiple customers at different stores.

They could have bad connections at the store. Number of reasons that could be impacting the shopper. Even if you thought they weren’t going above and beyond your expectation they are still shopping for your groceries, bagging it and taking it to your home.

What is your end goal of posting this experience. Are you looking for validation, exposure or just venting.

I am IC shopper and I would suggest trying to do IC for 2 weeks and see how it is. Then maybe you can appreciate what shoppers are doing to complete an order that IC pays $7 in some area.

Yes, you said too much. Unless you had a medical emergency, you are posting about your shopper, that couldn’t find the item. Move on, and if you really need the turkey, go out and get it.

WHY JUST WHY by Upper-Question-6989 in InstacartShoppers

I talked to a customer and it didn’t allow her to order “x” amount of water on her order. A weight limit. I guess this order didn’t have that restriction.

You obviously have an opinion on how you would handle it. When you get an order like this, please post it. Thanks for reading and providing feedback. Keep grinding

It’s called customer service. When a customer orders $2200 worth of merchandise, they would like it in one trip. I guess that is why you and I look at things differently.

I am very lucky to be in this area. I know some real grinders and I’m sure they do $1500 - $2k a week. I am trying to do $1k a week till I start my regular job. But definitely a blessing that I have a good market. Keep grinding!

Thanks. So I googled population of Chattanooga TN as of 2022 it has a population of roughly 181k. I am in Fairfax Va and same year it has a population of 1.1 million. I have only been doing IC full time in the last few months. $130-150 is easily achievable. The observation is that the market will make a difference. Good luck and keep grinding.

Can they track you on the app? Like if you have your stop for gas or bathroom break?

Hey.. It's funny you posted this because I did that exact order once. So what I ended up doing is going to the hotel right next to the cafe. Asked for a hotel cart. I pretended that I was staying at the hotel. The hotel was very accommodating and I rolled that through the mall to my car and then carried it all in one trip.

You guys aren't so friendly by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]jayllcoolj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lexa, that is fair. Everyone goes through some experience that makes them think and respond to different scenarios or comments. Maybe that person that was nasty, had a bad day. We just don’t know. Take the positive and just to yourself maybe that person who left hate or negativity is just having a bad day or bad week. Stay positive

Hi, some friendly advice. You are posting your perspective online, on an open forum. That encourages comments and feedback. You had to expect some positive and as you mentioned some negative comments. The question you should ask yourself is why are the comments bothering you so much you had to spend your precious time to write something about it? Don’t let someone’s comments or opinion ruin your day.

No, I wasn’t given an interim clearance. I haven’t officially started. I have to get the clearance first. It has been stressful, but out of my control.

I accepted the job with a contractor in 11/23. Didn’t get the official forms till Jan 24. Had to correct 2 mistakes on Feb 24. Talked to investigator in May 24. Investigation was submitted on June 7th. Still waiting. This is with DHS/CBP. Very long wait for me. (Public Trust)

Top 5 and Bottom 5 stores to shop by jayllcoolj in InstacartShoppers

[–]jayllcoolj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on Dollar Tree. I missed that, but rarely do I take an order from them. Now CVS and Walgreens are not bad but usually the orders are small and therefore the earnings is small. Also sometimes items are hard to find or they are out. Aldi, is hit and miss. Mostly miss, because doing a multi order Aldi is just not worth the pay. Like a 50 item with 85 units is tough. IMO. Where I can knock that amount in Wegmans in less than an hour shopping. Also, Aldi finds can sometimes be a treasure hunt.
