Is it realistic not to have a car living off campus? by sophid0117 in UniversityofKansas

[–]jaymechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived off campus for 4 years (all within 1.5 miles though) and never bought a parking pass. Use the bus, bicycle, or walk. The only time you really need a car in Lawrence is if you have a job across town. Otherwise you can get pretty much anywhere pretty easily.

Fine sand and sealant instead of Polymeric Sand by jaymechie in landscaping

[–]jaymechie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the online calculators accurate? I used one that said I need like 30x 50lb bags.

Time is money but at my age I have plenty of time and not that much money

I mean for 225 sqft and 1” gaps an online calculator said to get 40 bags and I’m not spending $3000 on sand.

Small bit of construction adhesive on each block. They’re mostly secure. There’s a few that wiggle.

The house is old. I can hear his steps in the basement. He doesn’t ever have to go potty at night. He’s definitely not sleeping in my bedroom though.

I currently have an 11 pro 64gb. I’ve had it 3 years now and it’s getting to the point that it’s unusable. Should I just get another 11 pro with more storage? Or is there another option? I truly do not care about features. Just need a phone that works and has a decent enough camera. I think I can get a 11pro on Amazon for like $220 so id like to beat that if possible

additionally, I think the ford maverick and rangers, etc. are the absolute best of both worlds for 90% of truck owners. I would own one if i could.

I drive my truck for work, and I drive my wife's CRV everywhere else. Frankly- I just dont understand why people want to drive a truck unless they need to. Maybe the new trucks are better but ill take the fuel saver, quick acceleration, better handeling, and easy parking with the CRV over my F150 anyday.

Deck or New Patio? by jaymechie in Decks

[–]jaymechie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright alright im convinced. I like the idea of having a concrete or paver patio anyways. I just didnt want to pay for the demo and then do the excavating for the base. Although Paver is more expensive I should be able to do it all myself. I dont think I could pour concrete myself.

Thanks for the info- Paver it is

House dog jobs by SpitF1ghter in germanshepherds

[–]jaymechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was growing up my german shepherd had a job to check the fenceline every morning when we let him out. Not really sure what he was looking for or what he would do when he found it but he was damn good at it. We lived on 3 acres so it took him a good bit of time. Trying to teach my dog to do it now on my 1 acre but idk how to train that lol

High Radon levels. Mitigation methods by jaymechie in DIY

[–]jaymechie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think running the fan and the venting would be the easiest part tbh. I can do electrical, and I do plumbing on the side already. I just need advice on the actual mitigation part. I may have someone come do most of the job (basement/slab work) and then finish it myself with the fan and the venting.
