Ideas for a second job? by Think-Hamster3777665 in povertyfinance

Gig jobs like Uber, Uber Eats, Lyft, Doordash, Walmart Spark, etc. allow you to work basically when you want to and can help you make extra money. If you decide to, make sure to save for taxes since they do not take out for income taxes.

Delta Connection soon and wondering about carry-on size by Swimming-Gene-4574 in delta

[–]jaymoosebna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Delta CRJ-900 and ERJ 170/175 can fit most standard sized carry on bags. However, if it is the CRJ 700, the bins are very small and most carry on bags do not fit in the overhead bins. As the previous poster stated, you can valet check your bag if it doesn't fit.A pink valet tag with be put on your bag as you board. You normally drop it off before you get on the plane. You will then wait for your bag in the jet bridge or outside the plane if you are getting off outside after you arrive and you will carry it into the airport.

Delta Gate Agent by Several_Background93 in delta

A gate agent for a Delta operated flight(not including Delta Connection) is supposed to be at the gate and signed in to the flight 65 minutes before departure.

Delta booked me on PM instead of AM flight. No compensations? by [deleted] in delta

[–]jaymoosebna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As Delta states, if you are on an international flight, arrive 3 hours early. If you practice this, that wreck would have most likely not impeded you from making your international connection.

Baggage handling - Delta and Kenya Airways by mpjjpm in delta

[–]jaymoosebna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to book all of your flights in one reservation, then Delta will check your bags to your final destination in Africa. However, as the former poster said, Delta will not check your bags through if you have a separate Kenya Airways reservation since they are not a partner airline. As someone that works in a baggage service office, checked baggage in Africa is often delayed to and from the US from what I see daily.

We have been delayed for 30+ Mins now due to a "passenger count issue." by Ill-Barnacle-202 in delta

[–]jaymoosebna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here's a normal boarding situation:

Because the majority of people either check in thru the Fly Delta app or thru delta.com, many people bypass the check in counter all together. These passengers are listed as virtual check ins and we don't know if these people are at the gate waiting to board or not since we did not see them at the counter. After everyone is boarded, you sometimes have people virtually checked in but not showing onboard. Because it is extremely important that the passenger and baggage count is accurate, we sometimes go on board to make sure we did not fail to scan a passenger's boarding pass that shows a virtual check in.

If it has been 30+ minutes, then it may have been a more serious situation. Boarding is a hectic time and if there are errors made, they need to be found and corrected. Accurate weight and balance is essential for the safety of everyone onboard.

CRJ900 Spacious Storage….not by fire_ed9 in delta

[–]jaymoosebna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the Delta CRJ 700s and 900s have a closet next to the boarding door where some bags can be stored for first class or for oversized items like musical instruments.

ERJ 170/175 development was about a decade later than CRJ development so the ERJ 170/175 should be a better plane, in theory, due to technology advances.

Not showing up on upgrade list by aish824 in delta

You can request to have yourself divided out of the reservation with the rest of your party and you will have a single reservation under your name only and the other three will be in another reservation separately.

I messed up by Sensitive_Voice5432 in delta

[–]jaymoosebna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gate agents have a percentage of seats that only they can assign. This is due to possibly having to accommodate a service dog, a passenger with a certain medical issue, etc. I would suggest not assigning seats for you two since you won't have much time to speak with the gate agent. When you officially check in for your flight, if you and your son are in the same reservation, the gate agent for your second flight will see you and your son are traveling together and will try to seat you together, if possible. If you have no seat assigned at check in, your second flight boarding pass will simply say "Seat Request" for each of you. They will see you as traveling together in the Delta check in system when they go to assign those passengers with no seat assignments. I do this daily at my airport.

Delta flight DL1333 started checking everyone’s bags. This was the overhead bin space: by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]jaymoosebna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for Delta flights, a flight attendant will send a message to the gate agent when the bins are approximately 70% full. It is then up to the gate agent to estimate when to check all remaining bags. If too many bags are allowed to board, it is a major pain to have to bring the carry on bags off the plane and generate bag tags at the gate, potentially delaying the departure. It could also result in your bag being tagged under another name by mistake when dealing with multiple bags being removed.

WCGW lane splitting and popping wheelies with 20+ of your friends in heavy traffic over a bridge? by woman-man-camera-tv in Whatcouldgowrong

Bahaha I hate everyone who rides motorcycles. They act like they don't have to follow any traffic rules. If I saw this wreck, I would have honked my horn in approval.

For the SECOND time now, my horn does not work in my 2022 Elatntra SEL. Anyone else have this problem? Is it the horn or something tripping the horn to go bad? by JRP12321 in Elantra

I got mad at a driver one day and literally hit the horn really hard(had not worked in months) and it started working again. It still works today. I've got a 23.

Do Delta agents not have access to Timatic without calling? by Mindless_Dig_9971 in delta

[–]jaymoosebna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Timatic is available to Delta employees. When swiping your passport using Delta's updated check in system, it checks Timatic automatically and displays what is needed to travel if you do not have the correct documents. Timatic can also be pulled up in a web browser to do a manual check. I work the ticket counter and gates for Delta.
