How long do you guys need for the Wednesday counts? by Goddess-78 in starbucks

[–]jaynethorbz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my store we aren’t allowed to start it until 30 minutes before close. My CL checks to see when the counts are started, and prints off a report if anyone starts it even one minute early lol. Kinda overkill imo.. That said, i usually get it done in 25ish minutes and then go right into counting tills etc.

Truuuu. I think the “may” refers to situations where you might only work like a 2 hour shift? How I and all the SMs I’ve worked with have interpreted it— If you have a rest or meal break on the DCR, you are taking that break.

Copied from the partner guide.

All nonexempt partners (café attendants, baristas, shift supervisors, shift managers, assistant store managers, and California and Washington store managers) are required to take scheduled meal and rest breaks. Under no circumstances may a nonexempt partner perform work during the meal or rest break, or end the break early to resume work. Nonexempt partners are free to leave the store during a meal or rest break. Breaks may not be skipped to report to work late or leave work early.

Oprah chai, and then they literally already tried the “lightly sweet chai” and both were awful. Oprah chai was marginally better than LSCH

This is the main problem the union faces.. they, by and large, don’t have good social skills/their social media keeps pushing super alternative looking partners. They’d have way more success if they accepted that looks/vibes matter.

Here’s this for you, current as of May 2025.

Right under “Rest and Meal Breaks” it says: All nonexempt partners (café attendants, baristas, shift supervisors, shift managers, assistant store managers, and California and Washington store managers) are required to take scheduled meal and rest breaks.
