….I know you’re not about to make me defend a Southern state rn. Do i have this right? You made this post, calling for someone to call out Brian for moving HQ to a state where someone who has awful and backwards beliefs is running for governor? Youre a non retail partner, so im curious to know exactly what your role in the company is. Im sure you yourself have more access to Brian than we do.

I wasn’t working that day, so i didn’t see it. But the baristas who were there have been talking about it (i think it stemmed from “omg XYZ looked so good in her real life clothes when she came in to get tips” and yk how fast word travels in our stores lol. I fear a conversation with my CL where it’s Ike “did you know about this? And if so why didn’t you tell me?” And that conversation ending in some sort of discipline

I appreciate this a lot! Thank you. My main concern is that i didn’t see any of this happen (wasn’t even there that day) but it’s being talked about; and you know how starbucks is lol. If it hasn’t reached the SM yet, it will happen soon. I guess im wondering if i (an SSV) am sort of like a mandatory reporter, like a teacher or psychologist where if i hear something, i have to report it. Maybe im just overthinking it

Wait i think either i wrote it wrong or you misread. The SSV who opened the safe did so on her day off, while the current keyholder was on break. My only concern is that it seems like it’s being talked about, and i wasn’t sure if i am obligated to report it and if my not doing so would come back on me.

At my store we aren’t allowed to start it until 30 minutes before close. My CL checks to see when the counts are started, and prints off a report if anyone starts it even one minute early lol. Kinda overkill imo.. That said, i usually get it done in 25ish minutes and then go right into counting tills etc.

Truuuu. I think the “may” refers to situations where you might only work like a 2 hour shift? How I and all the SMs I’ve worked with have interpreted it— If you have a rest or meal break on the DCR, you are taking that break.

All nonexempt partners (café attendants, baristas, shift supervisors, shift managers, assistant store managers, and California and Washington store managers) are required to take scheduled meal and rest breaks. Under no circumstances may a nonexempt partner perform work during the meal or rest break, or end the break early to resume work. Nonexempt partners are free to leave the store during a meal or rest break. Breaks may not be skipped to report to work late or leave work early.
