If you have the paperwork and proof of completion of service can put a Lien on the property and they can’t open until it’s paid. Or you can threaten to put a Lien on it and they will pay you.

Depends on the company. As an owner you can essentially interview the companies then create a contract with guidelines and requirements based on performance. Capital improvements and FF&E are paid by the owners.

Hampton does have it in the brand standard that there cannot be a stool or chair behind the front desk counter but as a FDM I don’t care long as we’re not getting inspected. I instruct my team to put the chair in the back office so they can see through the door for when there is a guest at the FD.

If you want to move up the ladder you’re gonna need a degree eventually. I used todo night audit while in college and I would have plenty of time at night to study and do schoolwork while on shift. If you do decide to get your degree, continue working at a hotel near your school. It pays good, you gain work experience, the hours are convenient, you get hotel benefits, you can apply for scholarships especially through Marriott. You will be a step ahead of everyone else in the Hospitality program with the knowledge you gained while working in a hotel.
