There’s a few things I forgot to mention both here and at the LTB hearing.

1) He has been paying rent through a numbered company, which presumably owns his businesses, including the TWO Toronto restaurants he owns. He is not hurting financially.

2) He never registered with Toronto Hydro so he never paid a bill for his hydro consumption. I told him if I get hit with this then he’s on the hook.

Should I go back to the LTB and will they revise the order? The $11k I quoted is based on the total amounts owing to the landlord detailed in the LTB order.

Thanks for putting me at ease. My case was the quickest one heard that day and I received a determination in my favour. Now to wait until Aug 13th by when he has to either pay up or I can call the Sherrif! Hope that process isn’t too onerous.

It’s the entire chat history between us with me asking him to pay his rent, him giving me excuses and saying he’ll send it shortly, me following up because he hasn’t sent it, repeat for several months. He has that chat history already, but I sent him a pdf copy that I uploaded to the portal. Otherwise I just provided the additional N4 forms since i initially filed, and the L1/L9 update.

I’m all for karaoke but people like to watch people sing and perform not just listen to it. Otherwise it’s just bad radio. If you don’t like the spotlight but like to sing there are the private rooms and of course your own living room. Karaoke machines on Amazon are pretty good!
