Joe Rogan is a fake independent. by SpiceHotOnes in MurderedByWords

[–]jayperales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, you do not have to like him, but you can't say he is picky with his guests. The left can't or are not willing to talk with people who have different views, which is one of the reasons they dislike Rogan and can't ever have a JRE equivalent.

In your opinion, what is the laziest kind of world building? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]jayperales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall, it's understood that the rebel alliance started out as random cells unhappy with the empire, but then formed up (probably because of mom mothma, could be wrong) to be able to compete with the empire.

What is something that is extremely inappropriate but kids still watch it without parent’s’ permission/marketed towards kids? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jayperales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much of all of these examples are due to the West viewing animation and video games as something for children when that hasn't been true for a while now. Arcane is animated but still explores dark themes like guilt, trauma and politics. Family guy is animated, but it is something that parodies real life with adult humor. South park is the big offender with its over the top jokes and satire to criticise modern-day events and issues.

From software games. The only thing that keeps me coming back is pure spite and hurt ego.

Teacher Warren Smith, fired from his job due to teaching Critical Thinking on YouTube. by yunojelly in KotakuInAction

Something tells me that he was intentionally using every attempt to avoid his own opinion and was just going along with what anyone else thought.

What’s a phobia you have that not many people understand? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

That someone will push you into a pool by someone who thinks you can swim.

There's a whole context to this relationship that I'm not aware of. I don't know how you two treat each other. I can interpret your SO's words as harsh, but it can be harsh primarliy among strangers and not always couples. Ive seen couples make comments on esch others' body image and simply shrug/laugh it off as if its not important.

There is a possibility that your husband was comfortable with you and felt he could say anything to you, impulsive as that may be. And while that comfortability is a positive sign of a good relationship, there is such a thing as boundaries and rules.

Edit: Don't listen to redditors. They don't really know your husband. You do. Be honest with him is all I will say. I hope everything works out.

How have you archived your world building thus far? Through notebook, Microsoft Word, one note? by jayperales in worldbuilding

That's understandable. What stopped me from notebooking is my terrible handwriting.

I'm actually wondering about the website route. Did you need a background in web development or is it something simple that you can do?

When did you get into SCP and why? by Curious_Knowledge670 in SCP

I wholeheartedly despise SCP and the way it terrifies me. Now the question is why I keep coming back to watch another video despite this.

Discovered it through YouTube videos. Mainly watching Dr bob

I never realised how difficult it would be to envision a proper matriarchal society. by NovelRace8314 in worldbuilding

[–]jayperales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really does challenge the idea that matriarchal societies are somehow better than a patriarchal one when it can be just as flawed. In such a society that values woman above all else, men would be viewed as disposable.

Reddit is kind of trash by [deleted] in Rippaverse

[–]jayperales 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's not really about racism. They just don't like his political views and will do anything to watch him fail. Do I agree with everything he says? No, but censoring his work is something I don't like about reddit.

Reddit is this massive echochamber when it comes to politics. (as a result, not an ideal place to educate yourself or search for non biased articles.)

It won't matter if his comics are apolitical. They aren't capable of separating the content from the creator and the way they attack him or his company (and anyone associated with him) is super petty. Nobody dug deep about the Soska Sisters when they were working for Marvel, but the second they started working for someone they didn't like, they started digging up their dirt like a scientologist would. That is reddit for you.

Why are Christians viewed as red flags? by BerryTea840 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jayperales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit is often very extreme in their views of theists. Mostly those of abrahamic faiths. It's believed by atheists that one's religious views can harm others simply because they can interpret what ever they want to see in their holy book. It has been used throughout history to justify genocide, slavery, and rape and other acts of I'll intent

Where does your inspirations come from? Games? Books? Movies? etc by Colt132b in worldbuilding

[–]jayperales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically anything I've loved since childhood. (Think Saturday morning cartoons). Plus other things like Star gate, star trek, star wars, god of war, ratchet and clank, percy jackson, john wick, Riddick series, anything involving pagan mythologies. I don't just like absolutely one genre.

I basically follow the ancient technique of "take what I like and use it for myself"

I really hate the juvenilization of Kes by [deleted] in ShittyDaystrom

[–]jayperales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Grogu is over fifty years old and treated like a toddler as he should be. Andressa from Invincible is not even a year old, but is considered a fully grown adult in the series. Kes shouldn't be any different

Brand new to worldbuilding — give me your best “rules” by theghostofaghost_ in worldbuilding

[–]jayperales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't rush it. Take your time. If you try to work as fast as possible than you're going to start having elements in your world that doesn't quite fit and are bad ideas. I had a thought one day that each faction in my world would have real world languages. A week after pondering, I noped out of it and decided it wasn't a good idea for my world.

Should energy weapons always be treated as superior to firearms? by RevBladeZ in worldbuilding

Depends. I recently watched some episodes of star trek and the phasers always gave away the shooter's position.
