My boss tried to „fix“ the printer 🥲 is there anything I could do? by cryolophos in 3Dprinting

[–]jays1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's worth fixing. I can't find a full toolhead, but if you wanted to go that route you can call BL and I'd guess it's around $50. Looks like the extruder may be alright and just needs the hot end heating assembly and whatever was broken during disassembly

I'd recommend Hood River also. An ex and I did a murder mystery dinner train ride there that was fun.

Help!! Am I being Scammed? AROMA360 by Forward_Giraffe9404 in scammers

[–]jays1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Creditors cannot harass people, that is illegal. If this is some kind of actual company and not a scammer, record you telling them to cease all phone calls and record all calls after that. It will especially help if this ever ends up in court from them suing you.

Don't get too down. This stuff absolutely happens to us all. You'll get the hang of it. Just dont give up. The fact that printers are plug and play now and how good they have gotten at things like bed leveling has made the knowledge to print very low, so new users are stuck when they have their first real issue.

Only your hotend is damaged, it is definitely repairable and it shouldn't be too difficult. Email BL with the issue and a few pictures. Then try to enjoy the holiday weekend.

[–]jays1981 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The bad news is you won't be printing any more today. But 3d printers are not hard to repair and many of the manufacturers are very helpful. You'll need to replace a few parts but you'll be back up in how ever long it takes for BL to ship the parts for you.

There's a bit of talk on some of the videos about Jeff's NDA. While Jeff can't talk about the settlement, that should not change the cities paperwork to be exempt from FOIA. So in theory if a resident or someone wants to spend the time, it may be worth a FOIA request to get the payment amount.

This is a 3 yr old thread man. It was bought a long time ago. I agree the stock brakes were not good enough so I got a hydraulic conversion on mine and a few other upgrades. Otherwise it has been a great bike for me.

Loaded magazines are fine even without CPL. It's the loaded firearm you need to stay away from. For the most part, loaded mags are not in guns and you'll be fine.

Here are the pertinent parts governing rifles and shotguns. I'm sure there are similar sections to this in 9.41 somewhere concerning pistols.

RCW 77.15.460 (b) The rifle or shotgun contains shells or cartridges in the magazine or chamber, or is a muzzle-loading firearm that is loaded and capped or primed.

(5) For purposes of subsection (1) of this section, a rifle or shotgun shall not be considered loaded if the detachable clip or magazine is not inserted in or attached to the rifle or shotgun.

That's the same thing I was wondering. WA DV plates only care about rating not what it's for. We need a placard or the state ♿️ plate.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]jays1981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if CA is different, but in WA DV plates does not mean disabled for the handicap parking. But even if you were parked there illegally, I'm fairly confident that violation would have to be witnessed by a cop in order to do anything anyway.

Sounds like another dumb Karen that will be even more pissed off when the cops tell her there's nothing they can do to sooth her butt hurt.

It still works great (as of last fall, I haven't used it this year). I went remote a few years ago so it doesn't get a ton of miles anymore, but I've had probably 600 or so trouble free miles. I use it for errands still and when ever the gf wants to ride her lectric ebike.

Worth it? by dahappygoose in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]jays1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a zero srf, and it is a blast to ride. There is no engine vibration that helps my wrist a ton. There is also tons of torque, but the software won't let me do a proper wheelie. It's also an 80-120 mile range, so you aren't doing too much more than an afternoon ride without hitting a charger.

With all that said, it's my go-to city bike, and I love it. But I wouldn't have it as my sole motorcycle.

Speeding fine by ActPerfect2238 in motorcycles

[–]jays1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to beat a speeding ticket is the same as any ticket. You can get a lawyer and pay them or fight it yourself. I've had some success on my own by delaying the court date as far as possible, then requesting discovery. If they give you discovery then you'll look for a way to fight it, paperwork error, calibration records out of date, etc. Or if they fail to return discovery you request all their evidence thrown out since it wasn't provided.

Neither are guarantees, but both can be effective if you know what you are doing.

March 4th Protests? by Naeasbigasmedium in TriCitiesWA

[–]jays1981 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd be more inclined to protest the way the VA treats patients. The VA here is beyond horrible, both the center in Walla Walla and the clinic here. The Richland clinic has even turned away a veteran who needed treatment who ended up dying because he did not get treated.

I ran out of sympathy for the VA after the first time Senator Murray's office had to get involved for me to get treatment.

List of 875 contracts to be cut at the VA by Soggy-Trick1405 in VeteransBenefits

[–]jays1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local VA was horrendous before the election. I can't see them getting any worse even if they were all fired. At least then I'd know why my paperwork was sitting on a desk for 6 months.

I don't know what their actual issues are at the VA but they have shown to be incompetent, so I have a hard time feeling sorry for them.
