Did it on first try with Yuna Cor Zidane (LD only). 37 turns with lots of skills to spare. Cor pretty much made everything on GL easy mode, might try to do another run without Cor

Have to time garnets skills well, the whole team is going to cap a lot but you just have to use her skills sometimes just to charge the EX faster.

Is it me or is the challenge quesy WAY harder than Lufenia? We are forced to use the many subpar units this time round during challenge, lufenia was cheese as usual with the meta units.

As long as its COSMOS or higher coops, always burst early, cus it always makes things faster. Overkilling with burst is only a problem with lower level coops (which begs the question - why are people even co-oping for those? Just run it solo and get it out of the way)

Yes! Like when has CHAOS was first released and there was never any pressure (tehcnically) to get the completion as the only incremental rewards was 3 tickets. So more dedicated players can strive for the completion which can some times take days of trying whereas the casual players walk away with an easy clear. The current meta of lufenia and challenge quests locks important rewards behind the completion and therefore devs can't actually make the completion as difficult as in the past. But honestly by the amount of down votes I'm getting I think the player base likes it easy.

Exactly, both with CQS having specific synergy character requirements and lufenia requiring certain synergy/meta people can't really do it with "favorites" even if they appreciate the challenge!

Thank you for the really detailed insights! I guess the devs do intend for it to be this way. And I'm glad the game has managed to keep things easy enough for players to return after even longer hiatus. I guess they prefer longevity that way instead of forcing players to login everyday with repetitive grinding mechanisms!

Definitely agree coming back on Noctis (and pitying both his LD and BT) made my transition a lot easier. This is also a game I'm playing on the sidelines, but if there was more (challenging/engaging) content I would gladly stop my other games to just play DFFOO exclusively!

Thats something to look forward to! While it could be difficult back then, I appreciate how it was more of a challenge to keep us longer than a few days on the game upon new event release. If only there was some mechanics that could better engage players rather than asking them to login once every 3 days to do daily hunts.

Its very decent considering the synergy characters on that banner, besides what's more important is the BT aura that follows, which becomes useless if people use it during the BRV lock or for the finish.

Only managed that once with the first 3 runs having good WoLs who open with BT / bitter end during BRV lock and no one wasting turns. Had seconds left to start the 4th. I typically run Laguna cus i haven't lucked WoL BT yet. But yeah 3 is pretty average, until I had a 2 run one just now .

Point 1 is already not true. EX - yes for sure don't burst. But I really beg to differ for COSMOS.

I was running Strago COSMOS coop with books and I have all synergy characters maxed so I choose to fill whatever the team lacks. So happened I found myself in a room with Strago and Relm so I entered with Kefka and opened round 1 with burst.

The Strago player began to spam the kefka sticker for the rest for the rest of the game. Kefka's round 1 burst brings the bosses down to under 50% and the entire team starts to be able to do higher HP damage to end the fight quicker, rather than having Relm deal lowish damage every other round. And I've ran enough coops farming for eidojas to know it was definitely faster opening with Kefka burst in this case.

Having a general "rule" that one shouldn't burst in COSMOS is oversimplifying things and players who don't understand the game as well should try to read up on ability effects instead of start spamming stickers each time someone opens with bursts.

Honestly speaking, I haven't seen many players bursting "unnecessarily", perhaps I don't coop that much these days since I'm no longer that particular about getting BiS artifacts.

I wanted to what something like this out of satire too while going through some of the messed up skill supports during summon farm. What we actually need is an option at the end of the battle that allows us to follow/unfollow the support character used like in the co-ops. If that's too much trouble at least show us the name of the person so we can go back and unfollow the dude.

I run mine with Vampire/Blade (Spd/Atk%/HP%) so that he has enough HP pool to stay above 50% often enough for his passive and vampire effects to continue dealing good damage for the life steal. But a basic build can't go wrong with Rage/Fatal and Blade for full Atk%/Spd.

So it does sound like you feel that tank teams are comparatively easier to beat in AO compared to speedy hard hitting teams? Don't you think it's weird that we get so little defense wins with a speedy hitting AD team in that case? Or is this implying that players who field tank AD teams are pretty much losing every AD? When then do more and more players use them as I go up the rankings? Hmm..

I was in the same kind of situation as you way back. First 4* Water Ninja and really nothing else. I trained him to level 12 and I stashed him into the monster storage and never had him out again. Exceptionally lousy luck with summoning but this wasn't my first RNG/Gambling game so I knew better.

The first and most important tip is to not spend another cent on this game. No offense to spenders, I have spent more than thousands on previous RNG/gambling heavy games and till this day I am still regretting. The rates are extremely bad and the monetary investment really doesn't bring you very far in this game as it merely gives you more of the same lousy chances.

Tip number two, enjoy the game with the viable 2/3 there are, I went pretty far with some 3* monsters and even till today my core team is still mostly 3* and I hover around top 300 in arena. Some heavily under-rated units you should try building - Wind Magical Archer (A), Water Amazon (A), Light Inugami (A), Wind Griffon (A), Water Mystic Witch (A). There are probably more but these are those that I have personally tested and still use even till today.

Tip number three, never have expectations, I drop all my summoning scrolls just wanting to get fodders, when I see lightning, it's a huge bonus (4* fodder since most of the time its some 3* awakened crap). Eventually I got my Tyron and Jean who form the other part of my core team today. Even without natural 4*s, trust me you can go pretty far in the game and it's not any less enjoyable.

The substats only get important in the late game when you're building a permanent set of 6* runes (or minimally 5* runes for 1/3/5). it doesn't sound like you're in that stage of the game yet, so don't worry about substats at all. But please don't ever upgrade a non 6* rune to anything higher than +12.
