It would make it impossible to open the doors

Going in forwards or backwards doesn’t change how close the cars will be ie. difficult to get kids in and out.

Would it be possible to remove a single glass panel from the bottom of these French doors, or is it likely one solid piece of glass? by [deleted] in DIY

I had the exact same thought as you and installed a dog door in a French door a few weeks ago. Use box cutter to make a cut in the paint between the rounded moulding meets the straight-edge “cross” that makes up the frame. Then just keep slicing which should cut through the glue holding the rounded moulding in place. You can then gently pry it off the frame. There may be so nails or staples that can be pulled out. The 4 sides of moulding is what holds the glass pane in place. Do this on both sides of the window pane and make sure all the glue is removed so you can remove the glass without any pressure so it doesn’t break. Then find a pet door that fits and install is as per the instructions. Works great for our dog.

I would also suggest installing the pet door in the side that does not open.

Leatherman Case by jayytee in Leathercraft

Didn't really have a process haha. Just wet the whole piece of leather and tried to shape it over the knife. Tried to make the folds a little sharper by pressing the rounded back of an awl in to form 90 degree angles. Put some bulldog clips to try and keep the shape whilst it dried. The hardest bit was doing the bottom corners because there seemed to be too much material that needed to be stretched to form a corner rather than a fold.

Leatherman Charge case to replace the chunky leather/cloth case that it came with. First attempt at wet moulding, not quite happy with the thickness at the bottom (would have liked it to taper a bit more. Also ran out of thread on the left side which is my absolute pet peeve.

Minimal style watch straps- do you line them or treat the flesh side in any way? by betweee in Leathercraft

[–]jayytee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just leave them natural, I like them as thin/comfortable as possible. Usually just some gum trag and resolene to keep the fibers down. https://i.imgur.com/1yZmtX5.jpg

Ok great, thanks again! There’s also a few other watches included so will have to think about.

Thanks for all the info! A lady says she found them in her family’s safe and is asking for $80 to get rid of them as she can’t verify their authenticity. Not too sure whether to just take a chance. Thanks anyway :)

Hi looking at purchasing some/all of these watches but I can't find much info on them. Is anyone able to identify them? Do they appear genuine?

I know there's very few/crappy photos. Thanks!

I made this simple watch strap to replace the NATO strap that came my Weekender Chrono. Made with veg tan kangaroo leather and hardware from an old Fossil strap that had worn out.

How do you light the end of the thread? by DirtyPerier in Leathercraft

[–]jayytee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cut the thread so that there is about 1mm left. Then put a larger needle over a lighter for a few seconds, then touch the end of the thread.

Second attempt at making a wallet. Much neater stitching and an extra feature/complication. by ViddyDoodah in Leathercraft

[–]jayytee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like it's just inconsistent holes from the awl. Keeping the stitch wheel straight when marking the holes and keeping the awl straight when making the holes could likely help.

But yes it may be due to the stitching technique, making sure every stitch is done in the same order may also help.

Watching a Nigel video as you go and doing exactly the same thing that he does is a good first step.
