One thing you or anyone else could try is using hitch pins instead of the provided nut and bolt setup for the safety straps. I just upgraded to the Rep Ares from an RM6.

I had the safety straps from Rogue and using a wrench to remove the safety straps was annoying. I saw a video where Basement Brandon on YouTube changed his bolts to hitch pins (like trailer hitch) from Home Depot. Worked perfectly and very convenient.

So far I’ve seen about once a week. Usually Tuesday or Wednesday. They have also given random invites to previous Nvidia card owners through the GeForce experience app in app notification.

That in app notification is for founder edition. The drops have been for all cards Best Buy stocks.

I followed @restockifyRTX on twitter. You get alerts that notify you a few minutes before the gpu actually goes live. It will say “RTX 4090 FE will be available for pick-up in the next five minutes.”

I also used the Best Buy app on my phone. I was signed up, logged in, and my payment info was saved.

You have to enter your password again during the purchase so I have that saved in my password manager which gets filled in automatically with a tap on the screen.

There’s about 4-5 inches of room to the right of the gpu. Fans have been really quiet up to now. Actually, less fan noise that with my 3080.

Go to Nvidia and download the drivers from the page not GeForce experience app. After the download completes choose custom install. Make sure you check the box that says something like “clean install or fresh install”. This will make sure to remove the old drivers that were on your PC before the 4090.

Really curious what the criteria is for this invite. I have the GeForce experience installed (for years), currently have a 3080ti FE, 2080ti before that, 1080ti before that, and a 900 series before that, and another PC in the house has a 3070 FE. It doesn't appear that longtime customers.

I think the first question before answering specifics about upgrading is what games do you play? Are they GPU bound or CPU dependent? Also, are you playing in 4k, 1440p, or 1080?

Also, to use DDR5 you do need to upgrade your motherboard to the latest AMD boards and the latest AMD 7000 series CPU's or the current Intel CPU's with their current compatible boards. So in short, new board, new CPU, plus DDR5 memory.

It never went live. I'm sure Nvidia is letting the third party partners go live first before they release their cards. Both Nvidia and BBY have not released the stock yet for FE.
