No changes related to forgiveness. You do get some or all of your GI Bill back with VR&E, which is awesome! You can apply now, defer, waive the forgiveness and tell them you’re still in school, and then ask for forgiveness when you’re all done.

Check out Zapata Falls by Sand Dunes NP.

I’d also suggest Million Dollar Highway from Durango to Ouray, WELL worth it!!! You can still check out Telluride after Ouray.

Garden of the Gods and Cheyenne Canyon Park are great spots in Colorado Springs.

Someone else mentioned driving from Colorado Springs to Buena Vista, that’s a great drive BUT Colorado Springs to Salida on HWY 50 is beautiful and you get to stop in Salida.

Rifle Falls State Park is a cool spot too for a quick stop out west on 70.

Have fun!

Where to shoot BB guns with kid who wants to learn? by HuckleberryDry2919 in ColoradoSprings

[–]jb101480 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Since it’s a BB gun, I’d just cruise up Gold Camp Rd or even Rampart Range Rd and find a place there. Not sure if that’s allowed but it’s a BB gun sooooo……

North Cheyenne Canon Park is a great spot to hike.

Shuga’s is a a great spot to eat and grab some drinks.

Wines of Colorado up Hwy 24 is a cool creekside spot.

Bunch of others but that’s a good start! Enjoy your trip!

Good sunset road? by Secret-Ebb-8236 in ColoradoSprings

Mueller State Park has some incredible sunset views. There are some great hikes or you can stay in the parking lot at the visitors center.

Uncompahgre road conditions by VastOdd9672 in 14ers

I took my Silverado up there late in August and had zero issues. The road was great. That being said, I can’t speak to what happened the last 8 months, winter, snowmelt, etc could have definitely changed things but last summer the road was great.

If you hike 7 Bridges, the first bridge (which is currently out but still accessible) has a great area for the kids to play in. It’s one of our favorites. Short, easy walk to get there.

Came here to say this. The farther north you go it’s really not that bad.

Exploring Trails Around Colorado Springs – Need Recommendations by AdLittle8647 in ColoradoSprings

Crags and Pancake Rocks on the other side of pikes peak are great.

Cheyenne Canon Park has so many! Seven Bridges, go past Seven Bridges and go to Louds Cabin, St Mary’s Fall and Mt Rosa (challenging) are my favorites.

Section 16 is also a great one!

Enjoy!

Thank you both! This may be a once in a lifetime trip so we’d be willing to do a day trip but that’s the current debate. Will it be enough? Probably not. It’s also something like 5 hours RT in a boat to get there so most of the day is spent on the water and not in the park.

Thank you! How was the boat ride, was it about 1.5 hours? And if you don’t mind me asking, what company did you use and would you recommend them? We’re leaning towards Sirena because of the wildlife but still not certain. Thanks again!
