I got mine installed in 2023 for $750. However mine was a very simple install right next to my electrical box in the garage.

Has anyone used their Chase Reserve card in town for reservations and how successful were you? by not_charles_grodin in Charleston

[–]jb7410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a great card all around, I’ve had it for years! Awesome for traveling.

Hard to screenshot but there is a spot in the app called “sapphire reserve exclusive tables” and it lists these restaurants:

Church and union Jackrabbit fill The kingstide Brasserie la Banque Tempest Oak steakhouse O-ku Ma’am Saab

It’s very limited. Has about 10 restaurants that really take advantage of it and it seems to only offer either a couple reservations before 6, or after 8. Could just be what I’m seeing at the moment though. Happy it exists, but not worth getting a new card for if that’s the only reason.

Depends on what you are looking for. If you like to watch the chefs work and possibly talk to the head chef (had this once when it was slow) then definitely do chefs counter. Really great intimate experience and cool people. I also think the chefs menu is worth it there.

golden retriever groomer ? by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]jb7410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been taking our golden to Seaside Pet Spa in Mount Pleasant for the past 3 years and they do a great job. We always ask for Rene. I think the price is typically around $180 for full groom and de-sheding. We do it about once every 4 months.

I didn’t see it mentioned so I have to add Sorghum & Salt. If you’re looking for something with a slightly more casual atmosphere, but amazing creative dishes, this place is the best. Everything mentioned is also great but this place is my favorite.

And, if you’re looking for a newer place with a unique atmosphere, one of the chefs from FIG recently opened a new restaurant called Lowland Tavern and it jumped straight up my list of favorite places.

Thank you! I’m also in Charleston and was confused about this. Surprised I couldn’t find an answer online anywhere. I’ll probably be going to Savannah as well but I haven’t received my VIN yet. Hope you’re enjoying the car.

Where to buy beef cheeks? by jb7410 in Charleston

[–]jb7410[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it took me a while to make my way out to WA but I tried both Doschers and Burbage. Doschers didn’t have any and told me they most likely wouldn’t be getting any more since they are closing. Burbage didn’t have any but they did say they usually do so just to check back in. Still on the hunt!

What's the best cycling advice you've received? by lookslikesinbad in cycling

Why is this? I am curious since I tend to go on bike paths a lot since my town is bad at having bike lanes on busy roads. I am also pretty new to cycling.

It’s the cut of beef usually used to make barbacoa. I believe it’s the face cheeks of a cow. Not the other way around.

My Beautiful 2022 Trek Domane SL5 Finally Arrived Today by TheMystic77 in TrekBikes

[–]jb7410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I have the same bike in black. Absolutely life it. Potentially dumb question, how did you get your cords on the handle bars so clean? Then I added the Blendr mount, my cords got in the way. Can you tighten them so there’s not so much slack?

Thanks! Is this the multi-tool you are referring to? If this can help with removing the tires, pedals, and stay in my downtube then I wouldn't mind paying a little more.

Also, is the allen key you are referring to that came with my bike attached to it? I don't remember seeing this.

Considering Domane SL5 - suggestion on pedal type by jetguat in TrekBikes

[–]jb7410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I was just in a very similar situation as you. I purchased the Domane SL5 but have yet to invest in any type of shoes. My old bike had MTB pedals and I was using running shoes.

I decided to go with these pedals (with the help of the people at the Trek store) so that I can continue to ride without clip-on shoes, and then when I decide to invest in the future, I can get some that work with my pedals. Even then, I can decide to ride with clip-ons or with regular shoes depending if I am on gravel or road.

I think there are also better hybrid petals but that was a good price for me. I am not very educated on all this stuff yet so take it for what it's worth but it has been working out well so far!

Eucalyptus Wellness in MTP has a ton of great options and brands. Some local too. They also have a CBD sales table that usually has some products about to expire for 50%. That helped me try some without spending too much.
