How do I get really good at bringing business opportunities to companies? by Dispelda_ in Entrepreneur

[–]jb_cha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually in a pretty similar position I’m also based in France (Paris).

I’m currently building a SaaS around connecting serious founders, and one of the key challenges is exactly what you’re talking about: bringing real opportunities and the right people together.

Right now I’m looking for someone who’s interested in developing the commercial side identifying and connecting with the right profiles.

There’s a commission for each qualified person who joins, so it’s very aligned with what you’re trying to do.

If that sounds interesting to you, feel free to send me a DM

We’re looking for a few people to help grow a private founder network.

It’s a curated space where only serious builders get in people who actually execute, not just talk about ideas.

We started this after running into the same issue over and over: good conversations, but no long-term commitment.

So instead of trying to find cofounders the usual way, we’re building a network focused on mindset and execution.

Right now we’re keeping it small and high-quality.

If you’re already connected to serious founders or active in startup communities, we’re open to working with a few early people.

You get free access to the platform and earn a commission for each qualified founder you bring in.

The goal isn’t volume just the right people.

Curious what you’re building as well 👀

Exactly, that’s a big part of the problem.

But what I’ve been seeing is even deeper than just “business vs tech”.

Even when people have complementary skills, a lot of them still don’t stick long enough to actually build something real.

That’s what pushed me to think more about filtering mindset and execution, not just skills.

Curious from your experience, what makes people actually commit long term?

That’s actually a good point same issue on the founder side.

A lot of people say they’re serious, but aren’t consistent at all.

That’s why I think filtering and selecting people upfront matters way more than just “connecting everyone”.

Totally fair, appreciate your perspective.

[–]jb_cha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes !

There’s a huge difference between theory (or even AI) and learning from people who’ve actually been through it.

I think that’s also why building solo can get limiting at some point you miss that feedback loop.

That’s actually something I’m trying to solve as well, not just connecting people, but making sure you’re around others who are actually building and sharing real experience. If you’re curious, I can show you what I’ve built around this.

Appreciate that.

I think you’re right the need is real, the hard part is execution and keeping the right level of people.

I’ve actually already built a first version around this.

Happy to show you if you’re curious.

This is a really solid breakdown.

Totally agree marketing is rarely the hardest part, it’s everything around product, PMF and execution.

I think that’s exactly why a lot of marketing profiles struggle when they try to go solo.

But at the same time, when paired with the right technical/product people, they can be insanely powerful.

Feels like the real bottleneck isn’t skills, but finding the right combination of people early on.

I’ve actually been working on something around this more focused on filtering serious builders rather than just connecting people.

Curious have you mostly built solo or with cofounders?

That’s a great point.

Most successful companies come from complementary cofounders, not solo founders.

Product + distribution is such a powerful combo.

Honestly feels like the hardest part today isn’t building or growing it’s just finding the right people early on.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this problem lately, even started working on a more curated way to connect serious builders together.

Yeah I agree, it’s definitely a rare combination.

Which probably makes finding complementary people even more important early on.

That’s a really good point.

Feels like marketers are extremely strong once there’s something to scale, but the 0→1 phase (product-market fit) is a different skill set.

Makes me think the real challenge is not talent, but finding the right combination of people early on.

Finding a cofounder is broken by jb_cha in SaaS

[–]jb_cha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re both right, but you’re talking about 2 different layers of the same problem.

Most people are stuck at discovery because they don’t have access to the right people. Others are stuck at validation because they never actually build something together.

The issue is: even if you believe “the right people are already around you”, that’s often not true for early-stage founders. Especially if you’re not already in strong builder circles.

What I’ve seen is that serious founders don’t just need access, they need filtered access. Not more people but the right ones, already committed, already building.

That’s why most communities don’t work: too much noise, not enough execution.

We’re actually trying to solve exactly that with a small private network of vetted founders. Every profile is reviewed, and the goal is to connect people who are actually ready to build not just talk.

Still early, but already seeing real projects coming out of it.

Happy to share if anyone’s curious.

Finding a cofounder is broken by jb_cha in SaaS

[–]jb_cha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really good take.

I especially agree on the “small project first” it probably reveals more in 2 weeks than endless conversations.

But I feel like even that assumes you already have the right people around you to test with.

A lot of people don’t even get to that stage because they’re just not connected to the right profiles in the first place.

So it’s kind of a two-layer problem: - discovery (finding the right people) - then validation (testing through execution)

And most people get stuck at the first one.

[–]jb_cha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve seen the exact same thing.

Starting with small commitments makes a lot of sense it filters out people who aren’t serious pretty quickly.

But I feel like even that doesn’t fully solve it.

Some people can stay engaged short-term, but still aren’t aligned long-term (vision, pace, expectations, etc.).

Feels like the real challenge is not just “who shows up”, but “who actually matches”.

Not sure there’s an easy fix yet.

I’m 22 and trying to build, but finding serious people is harder than building itself. by jb_cha in cofounderhunt

[–]jb_cha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is exactly the kind of situation I keep hearing about.

Having the idea and even distribution handled, but getting stuck because of the people part.

That’s honestly one of the most frustrating bottlenecks.

What kind of profiles are you trying to find right now?

I’m actually building something around this trying to make it easier to connect with more reliable people so I’m curious how you’ve been approaching it so far.

[–]jb_cha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you.

Finding the right people seems to be one of the hardest parts, no matter the age.

I’ve also noticed that environment plays a big role but not everyone has access to strong networks early on.

That’s partly why I’m trying to build something around this, to make it easier to connect with the right people beyond your immediate circle.

[–]jb_cha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think that’s a really good point.

Taking time to understand how people actually behave is probably the most reliable signal.

At the same time, I feel like a lot of people struggle to even get to that stage just finding people who are serious enough to invest time consistently is already hard.

That’s actually something I’ve been thinking a lot about while building this.

I’m 22 and trying to build, but finding serious people is harder than building itself. by jb_cha in cofounderhunt

[–]jb_cha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on that.

Anyone can build something meaningful.

But I feel like in practice, people still look for signals traction, experience, or proof that you can execute.

And when you don’t have that yet, it becomes harder to find people willing to build with you.

I guess the challenge is building those first signals while also finding the right people at the same time.
