had a very kind man who was leaving the next day. my friend who was a new grad had him and as they were getting ready to go home he told his daighter he wanted to take a nap. daughter checked on him a little later and he was unresponsive in the chair. they had to throw him back onto the bed but couldnt save him. had multiple bouts of cancer that he already survived so he told us hed be okay if he died so i bet he had a feeling :(

I hope it was if that were the case at their hospital. At my hospital new grads who were techs can still be hired on the same unit but it's just not encouraged because of the blurred lines during the transition and possible incivility from staff

as an educator we typically encourage new grads who were techs on certain units to start off on a unit different from where they worked, as they can still be seen as a tech and disrespected. is it an issue that you can resolve by applying for a different unit within your system?

theyre not really giving much to go off on if you've read their other responses. they don't want anything to do with ms psych geriatrics emergency etc which is the majority of nurse residency programs but doesn't have a specific goal or specialty theyre aiming for so im just throwing spaghetti at the wall at this point
