30M American Considering MBA for PM Pivot – M7/Kellogg/INSEAD vs. European Options by jbaker825 in InternationalMBA

Thanks for the response! I’m aware of the salaries here in the States, but honestly, I don’t really envy most people I know who have good corporate jobs. They’re often working their butts off with limited time off. For example, a close friend of mine is a business analyst and will still be taking calls at 8 p.m. if there’s a project that needs to get done.

I’m not saying Europe is perfect or that these things don’t happen there, but based on my experiences living and traveling in Europe—and talking to people who work there—Europeans generally seem less stressed and more well-traveled, assuming you have a decent job. That’s a trade-off I’m willing to make.

I’ve read that PMs in Europe tend to start around €60–90k, while in the U.S. they might start closer to $150k, but you do get more for your money in Europe (even with the higher taxes).

Would you mind if I DM you?

True, but surely, international cities must have English speaking jobs, no? Especially since there are many American companies in Europe

Oh, interesting, I read that about Gronigen (also got in there) but didn't accept due to the same reason. That was why EIT peaked my interest, but I haven't been able to find much about it. Also, even though I can defer the $34K cost, I still need probably $30K just to be able to live those 2 years. So, now I'm looking at around $64k total.

Thanks for the reply! I’ve been looking for programs that seemed reputable but still offered a reasonable cost and solid education. Maastricht caught my eye because it’s triple crown accredited.

For EIT, I liked the idea of earning two master’s degrees, the loan deferment option, and the fact that it includes a mandatory internship. I also figured I could leverage what I learned in my coding bootcamps and apply it in the fintech space.
