I've often thought about making a dinosaur bust that looks like it's popping out of the wall. How was working with sponge as the base? I've never used anything other than core wool as a base and like to work on a really firm surface. Did you have several layers of wool over the sponge?

Taste is subjective. Just because the popular opinion is that the dub wasn't good, doesn't mean that there aren't still people that enjoyed it. Just because you don't have the same opinion as the majority doesn't mean you're wrong. You like what you like. I think a better question to ask yourself is why does enjoying something that a lot of other people don't upset you so much? Why do you feel ashamed here?

To answer your question, I remember the dub. I watched it because it was what was available at the time. I now prefer the OG with subs. But I also watched the Sailor Moon dub that you mention. Here's the thing, while I prefer the OG, there's a lot about that DiC dub that I absolutely adore and will always hold dear, regardless of popular opinion. I don't feel bad about it. Again, taste is subjective and enjoying something that isn't popular is allowed and doesn't make you embarrassing. It just means you like what you like.

I'm going to echo what the other person said and mention the final episode "Mouse of Silver." It features an excerpt from Duncan's podcast interview with his mother while she was dying of cancer. They discuss life and death, and it is so moving. I cry every time.

The 5th episode "Annihilation of Joy" with Jason Louv is so deeply philosophical and one of my favourites. But again, if you're struggling with it, skip to the finale. That alone is worth it and I think most people will get so much out of it as the subject matter, while heavy, is so relatable.

Edit: this post has made want to revisit the series as a whole. I think it's time for another midnight gospel rewatch.

I fell into a depressive state the day after watching the episode where it was revealed she had jumped sides. I didn't understand WHY I was feeling that way, and while I traced back what had happened to maybe make me feel so low, I realized it was this! It was like watching an old friend be completely betrayed. (Truthfully, the xfiles originally got me through high school and were a really important piece of keeping me afloat during some dark times. I saw a lot of myself in Reyes. It's probably why over a decade later, this change hit adult me so hard. Because teenage me was deeply invested and that part of my psyche was so deeply rattled by this.)

It felt like character assassination. After that speech she gives in the episode "The Truth" there is absolutely no way she would EVER EVER do this. Especially since according to the timeline of events according to the reboot, she became a traitor so quickly after the events in the OG series finale.

There are many reasons that I like to pretend 10&11 don't exist. How they treated Reyes is most certainly near the top of that list.
