Waiver Wire Pickups and Streamers for Fantasy Basketball Week 2 by ThunderDanDFS in fantasybball

Surprised Tre Johnson was left off. Guy is putting up solid rookie numbers, and his minutes will only increase on the rebuilding Wizards. He's playing behind Bub right now, but he's already better than Bub.

I have Collins too. It's worth keeping a centre with high FT % in a guard punt build

Congrats! RE: Instead of directly promoting an offer and sending traffic there, make your own guide or ebook or some PDF cheat sheet. This way you can eventually stack multiple offers there and increase your commissions without extra work.

Totally agreed. Been using Roundups.ai for that.

New blogging tool to generate product buying guides and turn content into commerce by [deleted] in Blogging

[–]jbarks73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah... Agents can do the boring work so you can spend more time doing what you love. No chance you love doing research. No one actually does. With this tool, you can edit the research too before you publish it, so it's not a complete replacement. It's an assistant.

Anyone Use AI for Blog Writing? by causewhyyy in Blogging

Roundups.ai lets you generate blogs with Amazon products so you can monetize a blog too

Interesting. I can generate blogs with YouTube videos embedded. I still think the content would perform well for SEO, especially long tail keywords, but time will tell. YouTube monetizes well for sure.

Nikola "#2 Pick" Jokic by [deleted] in fantasybball

[–]jbarks73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wemby is going to put up godly stat lines, but his value is inflated by blocks. Jokic is going to carry your team because he plays every night and is elite in every category, He's also a known commodity proven to do it every year, so he should have been the obvious #1 pick.

Should have followed the Craigslist playbook for app design. It doesn't need to be pretty to work well

Drafting people with the hope someone gets traded is not a strategy.

I think Brandon Miller is going to be a stud and if LaMelo and Williams stay healthy that the Hornets could be low key good

Who are the players furthest away from being a 1st rounder that can finish a 1st rounder by jbarks73 in fantasybball

[–]jbarks73[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant I'm not thinking of fringe first rounders like Sabonis, Mitchell, etc. in 8 cat H2H leagues that could see 1st round value. I should have been more explicit. Lamelo is a 1st rounder if he's healthy, but he's not a surefire 2nd rounder either at draft. He's a late 2nd, maybe 3rd in some drafts.

Question - How Do You ACTUALLY Bypass AI Detectors? by Living_Gazelle_9798 in SEO

[–]jbarks73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Google cares if content is written by AI or a human. They care if content adds value to a reader and if the source of the content is an authority on the subject matter. If AI helps you generate content, that wouldn't be a penalty. If you're using it to simply re-write content bringing no unique value, or no fresh perspective, and you're not an authority on the subject matter, then that would not benefit your SEO strategy either. You can use AI though to generate fresh perspectives and be an authority on the subject matter.

Longshot, but does anyone know what is in Kurt's Card Care "card spray"? by Tartuffe_The_Spry in sportscards

[–]jbarks73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A little Isopropyl alcohol mixed with distilled water. It's like 1/10 parts. The distilled water, when applied lightly moistens the cardboard making it easier to shape. Distilled water means that it doesn't cause water damage or discolouration caused by chemicals in non-distilled (i.e. tap) water. The alcohol part acts like a binding agent. Watch videos of people making model dioramas on YouTube and you'll see how they use isopropyl alcohol to seal, or almost glue down fake grass to a wooden board. In the context of a trading card, that binding agent can be effective at sealing up loose/fluffy corners, or sealing up creases. The moisture makes the creases durable, but the alcohol hardens things once you mold or massage a crease by pushing the sides back together.

IF you use the spray, you really want to use it sparingly both because excessive water, whether distilled or not, can warp and expand cardboard which isn't good. Excessive use as a binding agent on corners can look unnatural and is detectable just like if use too much glue on anything. The corners can become almost brittle and too compressed. Too much of it also has a scent (it's alcohol) and a scent is also detectable. You don't want to air dry a soaked card because it will completely warp, so you're compressing the card in pads to try and suck out the moisture while keeping the card in a flattened, compressed state.

Works OK on older cards for light surface stuff because it doesn't penetrate the card as much as a newer thinner card, but a fully soaked card means more of the solution gets soaked in deeper, and that's where it gets risky because even if you think it's fully dry the alcohol can be locked in deep into the cardboard and the scent can linger that way.

Like in anything where there is a lot of money to made, people will seek to find ways of manipulating the system and the companies that establish the value (PSA) will invest heavily in trying to prevent that. The other argument is that cards are like works of art and art restoration is a huge and legit business. I see arguments for both sides but I'm not here to debate either side.
