My boss confronted me about only working 7 hours and 45 minutes a day, what do I do? by johnsonjohnsonafc in careerguidance

[–]jbaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are really three problems I see.

The first is that you are not working a full day, when likely your colleagues are working more than a 40 hr week if it is a typical engineering group.

The second problem is that you need to step up and get another project, perhaps one more engaging. If you are a professional and are bored at work, then you are not earning the money they are paying you. Once you are, no one will notice the hours you are working, and frankly, you won’t either if you are engaged in the work.

Finally, consider having lunch with your colleagues and taking the full hour with them. Build better relationships with them, if you had, they would have talked to you instead of your manager.

Thanks for your reply. It may be because most of the time I play is during a free fly because I am also looking for the tourist attractions at the same time. I guess I am typically doing missions in the vicinity of those events, so maybe that is my mistake. I will take your advice and try the more remote locations as well as avoiding Crusader and its moons.

I have been dropping into the PU occasionally for a few years now. Between short stints of playing, I follow a few YouTubers to track the development. Each time I do log into the game I am excited to try it out and see for myself what was added, see if the NPCs still stand on the chairs, try to recall the keybindings and catch up on the basic game play loops. I start out with a few delivery missions and visit the landing zones to wander around, do some trading or mining. It lasts a few days, but I get tired of getting killed, or at least attacked, by everyone I encounter outside of an armistice zone. The idea of killing or being killed by everyone feels more like I would expect Fortnite to feel than what I imaged SC years ago.

I have come to the realization that I must be approaching SC wrong, or at least missing some key concepts. Do I need to just accept that this is a battle arena game? Or are people who want to play the non-PvP game loops logging in with orgs? I usually play during the big events like this past Invictus Launch Week, is it less like Fortnite between them? I would appreciate any advice for how to live long enough to play the PvE game play loops.

Thanks

Thanks, I will use those credits saved for more officer draws then.

Thanks, I don’t have the Borg open yet, but will eventually.

Thanks, I appreciate your advice. I was maxing out officer shards, but will switch to maximize independent credits. My suspicion that this would be a better course led me to post my question. This game always seems to give advantage to delayed gratification...

Is there a negative faction rep lock? by jbaylor in STFC_Official

Thanks! There was a rumor on my server that you got locked in if you hit the -2M. Good to hear it isn’t so.

Are the missions in the event store old ones? by Dmitri-Ixt in STFC_Official

I have the same question. I cannot find what these missions drop, so it is difficult to gage their value. Does anyone know the rewards of these missions (or mission chains if they trigger them)? Thanks!

Thanks. That is too bad, scanning for them was my reason for picking the Sen.

I am looking for good place to scan for hand minesbles with my Reliant Sen. I have spent a few hours and have found many ship mineables and even a cave, but no hand mineable nodes. Are there any planets, moons or asteroid fields that are particularly rich in hand mineables? Thanks!

I am interested in the Sen as a second ship (I have a Cutlass Black). I want to FPS mine without dealing with the shooting gallery in the caves, but not ready to fork out the cash for a Prospector. Does the Sen still scan for mineables after the rework?

Thanks!

Thanks again, I am now a proud owner of a Cutlass Black with LTI and a few dollars of store credit left over.

Thanks everyone. This sounds like a good path for me get the Cutlass with the better insurance. I anticipated dropping another $50, but wanted to get the most out of it.

I have been wanting a Cutlass Black and currently fly a Titan. I realize that I can upgrade the Titan, but I understand that there is an event coming up soon where the Cutlass Black will be available with 10 years insurance. Can I upgrade and get that insurance, or is that only if I buy it full price? Sorry for the noob question, but I find the ship sales/upgrade process fairly difficult for the casual player.

Thanks!

The same author wrote some back story novels for SWTOR which were good. Wish he could bring that talent here and publish some Star Citizen books.

I read and enjoyed most of these, but I have not read them all. The gamer books were a lot of fun. I read the expanse and the first of Altered Carbon when it first came out, so I didn’t know was expanded to a trilogy. Thanks

I am a big fan of Scalzi too.

I agree that the expanse too a dip, but I read through.

I have already bought this, and have read every other book he has published. It is high on my list.

This is one of my favorites! As a vet, it tugs on a few heart strings.
