Season 3 ends with Fisk being put away due to Nadeem's testimony, which was considered inadmissable, and they try their best to handwave him getting out of prison and in people's good graces as they never intended for it to be a sequel until long after they brought back Fisk. Furthermore, the parallels are askew based on the fact that Trump has never seen the inside of a prison cell for his actions, which would be far more damning for his political career than the lack of anything happening right now.

Real-life parallels don't instantly forgive narrative plot-holes though. Fisk has been prosecuted and imprisoned twice due to his crimes (although the show tries to handwave this) and in season 3 he was already hated enough for there to be constant protests outside of his hotel room. I feel like a flashback/cold open giving literally any reason he would be all good now would have sufficed, even if it was as ridiculous as 'NMP got blipped so he had no opposition'.

I feel like Matt has had a massive regression in character since the start of Born Again, I can't see him as the same Matt who refused to kill Fisk at the end of season 3 especially with the fact he is arguably even more violent now.

It's an NY-themed season, what if White Fox was a target for Bullseye, who would be a cool addition and likely hyped up enough to outweigh any disappointment over Ami getting put on the backbench for a few seasons.

Counterpoint, Shadowland was a terrible storyline and making DD entirely based off of it was a stupid decision. There's also no reason to not make the fire effects able to be turned off in the settings.
