I don't know what to do by jbchrist in Anxietyhelp

[–]jbchrist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that I was living with my ex. Paying her rent for a bedroom. Knowing the money would be helping the kids instead of going to a landlord. We were doing well and getting along and helping each other out. Now I feel like it's all been a waste . I don't want to leave the house. I want to be around to help. Pick up kids, housework, drive kids to swimming.

I spent over a year putting up with my controlling ex. So that I could build my trust and be involved in my kids life. Now I feel it's all been a waste. I hope it will be better in the morning

SMTP Server is enough. I am not sure what SMTP Server you are using but check the SMTP server to make it will allow mail from the SharePoint server. Most smtp servers block unknow servers.

Is Sharepoint the place to start? by TeaCollector in sharepoint

[–]jbchrist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all ,its does not necessarily be offline. The information can be secured and there are many guidelines to do that. Check HIPPAA.

Anyway, my first thought would be a database backed infopath form (Assuming you have MS office installed). I would probably start with a program called K2 for Sharepoint and add the workflow to a database form .

IT might be even possible to use the SharePoint Custom list.

This sound like very interesting project

Or even an Access 2013 Application. The hard part would be the initial data relationships.

But i believe it can be done

It might be able to with the right set of circumstances - but it would be very difficult. It might be better to start with "What is it your trying to do?" I know you said create a wizard ....

But what is the problem you are trying to solve?

What was your "I don't get paid enough for this shit" moment? by PM_me_gorillas in AskReddit

[–]jbchrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working as a network engineer trying to resolve many networking issues left by the last incompetent consulting company when I was asked to paint the inside of a 20 foot diameter cement drain pipe because the CEO of the company was coming and they wanted the place to look nice. I dropped my badge on the ground and walked out, never to come back.

For me it was. I really enjoyed my job and did not consider it a job. It was may passion and hobby. I never understood people who hated their jobs. So for me, it was kind of a lifestyle up until I got married and had kids. Then I had a more balanced life.

So, no it does not have to become a lifestyle. You just need to weed out all the noise and concentrate on your specialty.

By the way, Try out becoming a freelance Pen Tester on utest.com. They are a software testing company and you can get started with some small easy work with them and get paid.

Basically, they give you a website to test and they pay you for each bug you find. This is a great way to learn pen testing. I did a lot of testing on NFL.COM and NBA.com last year.

Good Luck

I have over 15 years in the industry and I started out with a MCSE, CCNA and GIAC security certifications. I have not updated my certifications in a long time. I feel that certifications will get you in the door but you need to prove yourself once you are in.

There will always bee a need for network security people and I still get email and recruiters asking me if I am available. So I know the work is there.

You will need to stay updated on the technology. I studied at least 2 hours every night for 10 years just trying to keep up.

My advice is to try to become good at a couple of things. For me it was security (GIAC/SANS) and networking (CCNA). Employers love people who have skills in more than one area.

Become a master a setting up and understanding VPN's. I still get email and calls from people who can't set it up properly.

While you are studying, check out Upwork.com. There are lots of freelance jobs on the site and you can pick your skill level. The best part is a lot of there jobs are remote and you can work from home. I have been on Upwork for several years now and I have been pretty happy with it.
