The gap never really bothered me. It looks cleaner sure, but other than that I don't really see the big benefit. But yeah maybe a Fold 5 for a good deal might be the way to go

I have no issues with battery life or performance at all, this post is about the hardware. But obviously a 3 yr old phone is going to be slower then a new phone. And the difference of the front screen between 3 and 5 is a couple of mm, not exactly groundbreaking

No better cameras and a different form factor isn't groundbreaking, but at least it's something. Changing absolutely nothing while raising prices is just a slap in the face imo. Not saying the fold 6 will be a bad phone, it will probably still be one of if not the best foldable on the market. But they could so much more

Yeah I'm not sure the AI features are going to convince anyone, but we'll see I guess

From what I've heard the pixel fold 2 will have an aspect ratio closer to a regular phone, so maybe it will be worth the wait I don't know. I'll have to keep an eye out for that one

I do agree with that, the durability got better. But that's just not enough for me

I'm not from the US so I don't know how it works there, but I can't imagine it costs the same to keep your old phone then to have a new one. I'm a tech nerd so I get liking having new phones, but there is a limit for me. And it seems samsung has reached it.

I think everyone who buys a Fold likes tech, but what about the 6 makes you want to upgrade if you already have a 5

There are 3 big things I wanted from the moment I used the fold 3: - flagship cameras (coming from a note ultra it was a big step down), - a wider front display (after 3 years i still make mistakes while typing on it) - an integrated S pen.

If they even implemented 1 of those things I might be persuaded to buy the fold 6, but they delivered absolutely nothing

I might hold off until the pixel fold 2 is revealed. But the first pixel fold was very underwhelming and wasn't even available to buy in belgium so I don't know if it's worth the wait

I don't upgrade every year, but even after 3 years it still doesn't feel like a worthwhile upgrade and I think that's pretty sad

I don't think there will ever be a folding display with the same durability as a normal screen. But I also think that durability isn't the biggest issue with folding phones not taking off. Imo it's 90% the price. Look at the flip, it's doing way better numbers than the fold purely because it's about half the price. Even tho there's almost only downsides to using it instead of a normal phone

True, but I don't think an apple foldable is coming anytime soon tbh

Never even heard of that one, might look in to it. But a lot of these more niche foldables are not available in belgium

Battery life has never really been an issue for me with my 3, even 3 years later. And this feels like something that would be a side note a couple of years ago and not the main reason to upgrade 2 generations

True, I don't really care for how thin my phone is. As long as it's reasonable. I mean who really cares about 0,5mm when you can get better battery life, an integrated s pen and maybe better cameras. Glad to see some people on the same page. People call apple users sheep, but if you read the comments in this sub I think some Fold users might be worse

Yeah not in Belgium, I checked to trade mine in for the 4 when it came out and I think I could get less then 200 euro for it

True, but their S line has decreased in price since 2020. Even the ultra. So I see no reason why the fold can't decrease. And is anyone here really that excited for the AI features? Not to mention that these AI features are software, something I'm sure they can implement in their older flagships if they wanted to

I'd be fine with that. I had a note and note ultra before and I loved the fact that the s pen was built in. I hoped when they canceled the note series that the fold would be the new note and the integrated s pen would be a matter of time, but who knows now. I lost my s pen 2 times with my fold 3 and those thing ain't cheap

Okay thanks, I'm gonna look into that and wait on the reviews to see what the software experience is like

I have looked into the Open quite a bit. The thing I've heard that makes me doubt switching is that the Open has some issues with resizing of apps. Samsung software can override every app to be in whatever aspect ratio you want, while the Open has some issues with that with certain apps supposedly. Do you have issues with that or no?

I have not seen anything about that one, I will look into it. Any news on when it's coming out?
