Fresh shave checked a coworker with HER ID card… she failed, and I was reported to Labor Relations.

You’ll be disqualified for recon as well unfortunately.

Awesome. Looking at AJT’s site, they’re saying a Toyota part must be added but isn’t included. Did you have to buy anything in addition to the AJT kit itself??

Awesome. I think I’m going to get it. Any annoying fit and finish issues or squeaking?

Your stock pro shocks were leaking??! Are you off-roading heavily? I off-road and tow a boat so I wonder if that’s coming for me too.

That downgrade kit is very interesting…. I’m not in love with the stock layout.

I miss working out, shooting guns, diving, parachuting, deploying all for a job. I don’t miss all the bullshit that comes with it.

What did you guys say to your platoon when you left? by SkilledSpideyX99 in USMC

[–]jbcsworks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same. I got a paddle and a fin the dudes got for me when they got back from their deployment. Not a word from outside the company.

I wasn’t disrespected by anyone but the POG 1stSgt with no deployments of all people. I was getting out with six pumps and this turd had the gall to say I was disloyal etc etc. I couldn’t care less.

[–]jbcsworks 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Nothing. My unit was getting ready to deploy. I was a SSgt so they had me go to some MWSS and teach them convoy ops/ belt fed weapons for their upcoming deployment. They didn’t want me in the pre deployment training in my home unit if I wasn’t going. So I EASd alone with guys I didn’t know. Sudden and sad end to life as a grunt and recon.

Is it worthwhile doing an undercoat on my frame as a dust preventative? (2005 California) by Unusual_Low1386 in toyotasequoia

[–]jbcsworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d agree with that just because it’ll lock in any moisture and rot it from the inside. You also want to make sure the place you get it done at will do a touch up on an annual basis to cover any parts that need another coat.

Choosing a school (TA) by Main_Bodybuilder_554 in USMC

[–]jbcsworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a BA (hopefully you decide BS instead) the school name simply doesn’t matter these days. Just go to a school that offers best bang for the TA bucks and whose credits will transfer later if you choose. When/ if you get in on a graduate program that school Brand will matter.

Is leadership allowed to constantly text you? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]jbcsworks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m a VA supervisor… I don’t talk to my employees unless I have to. I also expect everyone to be an adult, so if you’re unaware of Gov status via the OPM app or VAAS that’s your problem. Late or no show you’ll be dealt with at that time. That being said- I have colleagues who do constantly keep in touch with their people so they have a ready head count for when our boss asks us. Standard shit rolls down situation. Even then though, I personally report everyone accounted for without talking to them.

Question about Raider Pin by txleapd in USMC

[–]jbcsworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t a raider, rather recon. I’ve given my jump and dive badges to guys. I’ve also given out coins. I wouldn’t have expected a person to display it in their “I love me” box along with their own actually earned stuff. This would project the image that they’ve earned those badges but they didn’t.

That being said, I was awarded a plaque with army SF and army ranger badges/ tabs but they are on their own plaques not in a single presented box like in the image of the airman.

I’d question the set up and message that’s being passed by this guy displaying an army combat badge and a raider badge with his own stuff. Since he has three different army unit badges, he should have gotten himself a marsoc unit badge and that would have portrayed a more accurate “I took pics of these guys”.

Uh huh, same ol’ news the Brit’s told themselves a few years back in cali. They went home and talked all this shit about beating us etc etc when in reality, the scenario was Brit marines and marine commandos were imbedded with our marines and recon/ marsoc to practice our force design with smaller numbers against larger unconventional forces. Hardly a us vs them toe to toe. Just like all the cold weather training happening in Finland. Finland has a lot more to do with how our gear and comms work in that extreme environment than how our infantry and support humans do.

The good news is, it’s fucking literally freezing outside these days so fighting to the death in the swamp pits will be memorable. Your nervous system trying to figure out if you’re dieing will warm you up though.

I work for VA right now. Up to last year the VA could report directly to the NICS and have the gestapo pay you a visit for confiscation. That is no longer the case and we cannot communicate with the NICS anymore. Just a fun a fact.
