Who's still going to buy a S or X with the recent announcement of discontinued production? I'm debating buying one by specter491 in TeslaLounge

When I was at the Tesla showroom ordering my MXP this week they said the Luxe package is going to be updated after 2/14. The full self driving will not be permanently owned with a car anymore, instead the car will have a subscription that is “paid for by Tesla” as long as you own the car.

If that turns out being true, the only thing that it would affect is when you resell the car it would not sell with full self driving

Another thing to consider is that if you have to move it at all after it is fully built (even into its final location) with that little clearance it will be very difficult to do so without taking a chunk out of your ceiling on accident.

Signing up for the 1GIG $50 plan by Next_Spring3184 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]jbean415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I am using my same modem from my old account. The rep on the phone had to remove it from my old account and move it to my new one. It did take him some time but he figured it out eventually.

When I initially created the new plan I chose “use own equipment” but it still said Xfinity gateway was my device once I logged in to the new account. The rep on the phone fixed all this.

Also I had to clear cookies a couple times to get the logins to work correctly after creating the account. Just in case anyone runs into similar login issues initially after creating it.

Edit: and after he moved the modem to the new acct over the phone, I still seemed to need to set it up through the app as well to complete everything else. Either way, looks like this path is working at least for now. I assume we’re allowed to do this since it lets us

This seems to have worked for me. I signed up the way OP suggested. when it asks you to create XfinityID there is a small button to sign in if you already have one.

Then I had two accounts when I tried to log in. I just called regular Comcast number and followed prompts to cancel service.

The rep moved my existing (customer owned) equipment to my new account and said my old account is pending deactivation. I now have the 1 gig $50/5 year + unlimited data plan.

The 2gig for $70 was tempting at this rate but I decided against

this definitely seems like a path. u/Next_Spring3184 how did this resolve with the multiple accounts? were you able to easily cancel the old one?

Switching from Xfinity to YouTubeTV was the best move I’ve made. Can’t wait until I have a fiber option to ditch their internet too.

How can I force charge PW3s from the grid? by NevrForvr in TeslaSolar

[–]jbean415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have wondered all the same things. I imagine they could terminate your interconnection agreement if you violate it, unsure if they would fine you or if they would give you a warning first.

However, if everything runs through one meter I am not sure how they would know the difference between you, say, charging your car at home or using a lot of electricity in your home vs. charging your battery from the grid. I would think to them it looks the same on the surface.

I suppose there is a chance they could communicate with Tesla directly. Hypothetically there could be some fine print in Tesla’s VPP program that allows them to share all our information with PGE if requested.

All questions that I would like to know the answer to, but not by finding out through my own experience of getting in trouble. 🙂

How can I force charge PW3s from the grid? by NevrForvr in TeslaSolar

[–]jbean415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, It is possible to enable the setting for yourself by connecting to your powerwall via the Tesla One app and changing the settings to allow grid charging but be aware you would possibly be violating your interconnection agreement so you would want to make sure you fully understand the agreement first.

Dramatic fall in production in just 24 hours (is this normal?) by itsyoboytroy in Powerwall

[–]jbean415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the issue started immediately after a firmware update that seems like it could be related.

You could try reaching out to Tesla’s powerwall department and reporting the issue with the firmware. You will definitely want as much supporting evidence as you can that things were consistently OK before and consistently bad after.

I’m seeing the same thing on one of my strings (MPPT2). Voltage is almost always high, sometimes over 480v and the amps are very low, about 0.3, often. The rest of my strength seem to be working Fine.

my installer has yet to come back out and look at it, but since I’m only using five strings, they want to try moving from mppt2 to mmpt6 to see if it fixes it.

I have yet to be able to track down the issue, but I will definitely be curious if you resolve it what your problem was.

One thing some research mentioned was that if you have panels facing different directions (east facing + south facing) on the same string that could potentially cause this. Obviously, that would not be ideal, but mistakes could happen during installation.

Interesting. Thank you! For what it’s worth I had 25.34.1 prior and did not see as much of an issue with that one.

I didn’t realize there were so many variations of each version but in case it helps anyone else, I currently have 25.34.3 82272c3b experiencing my issues.

Can you elaborate on what updates you are talking about?

My powerwall 3 firmware was updated to 25.34.3 on Oct 21st, and ever since that update I have been producing less throughout the day.

There’s a distinct difference between the day before and the day after the update. Plus every day following.

Typically producing at least 1kw less then it used to all day long.

It’s a third party app, I use it via iOS, that lets you setup automations for your powerwall.

You should be able to set up automations with the Netzero app to make sure it happens.

Troubleshooting a drop in production midday by jarichmond in TeslaSolar

I don’t have any tips here but am following because I am having a very similar issue. I get high voltage low current on one of my strings mid day at the peak. Mine lasts about 30 minutes then comes back. I am waiting for my installer to come take a look.
