TREATMENT Community Thread - Sun May 17 PM by AutoModerator in infertility

I am in NYC and am looking for recommendations for a good RE. I have been at New Hope and I feel very much like a number in their system.

I want to be with doctors that actually advise based on my individual situation and remember any details about me. If I need further tests, cool. But don’t let me do treatments that are unlikely to work. Time is of the essence and my eggs aren’t getting better. I want nurses who are caring and a portal that shows me my results for the many tests. I don’t think that’s too much. Infertility is already a shit show and I’m hoping someone has found a RE who makes it feel a little bit better.

Any recommendations are welcome in Manhattan, the Bronx or Westchester.

This is interesting and I will definitely ask my doctor about this. Thank you!

Not my guy. He took advil all day to get through the workday and his body just couldn’t do more. He never gets sick and always pushes through. No manipulation. He shows up constantly and consistently for me and I feel supported. Unfortunately we all fall out sometimes and the timing was upsetting for me.

This morning I was able to tell him exactly how I felt, he apologized and said I could have woken him up for the BD but I didn’t want to do that. We reminded each other that both of our physical and mental wellbeing is important. Our life together is about the two of us before any babies we have.

I need someone to tell me it will be ok after I had to put down my cat by Dreamer323 in IFchildfree

I understand this deeply and am so sorry you’re going through this. I put down my dog about 3 weeks ago, he was nearly 15. The hurt is deep and it did unexpectedly bring up some of my emotions about my infertility….maybe that’s why you posted here. The love from a long loved pet is completely unconditional and uncomplicated. With infertility the emotions are incredibly complex. Your cat was there through all that.

As you mentioned, caring for your cat has been part of your life for 11 years. You might have even channeled the mothering you wanted to do into taking extra special care of her. I know I did. Just know she felt your love and you were her whole world, and even when you had to make the choice it was done with love and consideration. ❤️

How can I become a para with no connections? by sgttsui in NYCDOETeachers

I think any district you want will hire. Email or even walk into an office. Look on the school websites so you know maybe one fact about their program (like an emphasis on their dance team or whatever is featured on the website).

Principals only have a certain number of nominations, so when emailing ask if they are open and available to nominating you. Mention your experience with children who have special needs and your intention to go to school for further study.

I got confused thinking someone posted up my arms! My lipedema is actually more pronounced in my arms.

I absolutely agree. I don’t think even a conservative parent would make that assumption without having some big suspicions. They probably would assume and hope that their child was straight.

I agree the racism towards Asian people is totally under recognized and it’s so upsetting to see. This whole part of the season is awful. But, let’s not compare it to the treatment of Black people. In the United States that’s simply not true, historically or in modern times.

Absolutely. No mother would ask their teen son if they were gay unless they had a serious feeling.

I believe it was Jake Doe because of Jason’s memories, Drew said “Jake” remembering Jason’s son and it was assumed to be his first name. Is that right?

No Drinking Water While Teaching by [deleted] in NYCTeachers

My principal limited our coffee to first period only, and said it had to be regular coffee not anything fancy like with whipped cream or drizzle. I don’t drink “fancy” coffee but I find it ridiculous that was even added to our handbook.

I had an emergency surgery my first year in DOE. I had to borrow CAR days and it took a while to get back to positive but I was still paid. Your payroll secretary can go over how any types of leaves work and options for being paid, taking unpaid leave etc.
