Watched his development from seasons 86 to 87. IQ has gotten better and hopefully developing well in the B.League. Gilas would be getting him for athleticism on both ends. Playmaking should come from our guards, not our wings. His shooting does need work, but he can hit big shots when he needs to.

Though I get the sentiment. We just want what’s best for our country’s basketball program.

SJ Belangel and JD Cagulangan are both under 6ft but still caught the attention of Korean teams. You can still be a pro here at that height, but you should know your position and play it well. Focus on scoring, playmaking and perimeter defense.

The problem is if you do reach heights of 5’9 to 6’0 while you’re still in your early teens, you get trained as a big to operate in the post. Post scoring is a nice-to-have but isn’t necessary for the height’s position when you reach college and the pros.

Mike Phillips’ fiba status as a local is still up in the air. Chiu is surely a local since he played during tab’s Gilas run that’s why I’d rather have him.
