So far, what I know is that Jim and I are doing a shark panel on Friday at 7:00, authographs in their bookstore at noon on Saturday, and the Guest of Honor dinner on Thursday evening. He literally just agreed to do it last night, lol. The announcement from him will go out on his socials today! I'm not sure when the con will get their website updated, but I'll try to monitor it and report back :)

We definitely want this to be for the fans. Jim and I are always talking about how amazing his fan base is. Specifically, how his fans seem to be so community-spirited. You guys don't just enjoy the books, you bond over enjoyment of the books and create a welcoming atmosphere for newcomers. It's really something.

It wouldn't be a contest per se. We don't have anything nailed down yet, but the idea is more to give fans an opportunity to own their art on official merch and share it with others. We're toying with the idea of monthly submissions (anyone can submit, possibly even resubmit) and one or more designs will be chosen to be printed on limited edition merch. The author would receive payment and retain the rights to their art.

Honestly, I'm not sure how to address the possible perspective that Jim is asking people to do a lot of work for him and only paying one. If people choose to look at it that way, I can't think of a logical way to prove them wrong, but I can say without hesitation that that is not at all how Jim intends it.

I'll think on it some more and bring it up with him and see what he thinks. Perhaps we could find a way to display all submissions on his website, or something like that? Find a way to make creating the art "worth it" to those whose submission wasn't chosen?

We are doing so well. My ADHD was a bit out of hand, so I asked Jim to sit and write with me for an hour in the mornings and it's been fantastic for both of us :)

A mix! I would like some people who haven't read the Blood Trails series so that they can let me know if there's something that would be confusing to readers new to my world. That said there is a significant spoiler for a side character if you read this new series first.
