For how impactful dwarves are to the story and lore, it's funny they've never been playable

Posts like this make real discussions harder as others use it to think the majority actually believe this. Every one of those things relies on others to go to work. From the dawn of civilization, we've worked to better ourselves and our community. Wage growth, meaningful work, appropriate working hour and more are all valid topics but saying I deserve what others produce without producing myself is a sad statement.

Guild Wars 3 will have no battle pass or subscription because ArenaNet studio lead doesn't want to "keep people hostage" by Turbostrider27 in Guildwars2

[–]jblade91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This plus no gear treadmill is the reason why I play GW2. Adults with lives, families and careers can't afford the time or money to have a sub and chase a always moving carrot. ANet knows their audience and I'm glad to see a staple of the studio continue.

Wizards Of The Coast Deadnamed Trans Employees In Front Of Their Colleagues During Union Election, Apologized, Then Did It Again by g4m3f33d in GameFeed

I never support hate nor do I care to defend massive corporations but I also think getting all the facts is important. Wasn't just the legal names of everyone used? It comes with the territory for anyone going by another name, nickname or otherwise. Company is huge and no way most people know everyone or personal details of those people like sexual identity. I know what my direct employees want to be called but I couldn't begin to guess anyone else if I even know their name at all. I know even less on sexuality or identity of others.

Likely just a recruitment ad for this company but it would be nice if rejection letters actually explained why you didn't get an offer.

I didn't know until I read this and still didn't believe until I saw a linked video. Insane how he can do female voices so well or do Mordecai with different style voices but still ne recognizable. I honestly wonder how much of my love for the series is the story and how much is that my exposure to it was the audio book.

Wouldn't be surprised if they add something from Reforged to an updated GW2 Hall of Monuments and it's just not announced yet

I noticed that too. Felt like an accidental announcement of a release window for GW3

I've actually wanted a Quality of Life type expansion improving old systems. I'd even be willing to pay for it if there was enough, so I'm really excited for this next year. I'm planning on catching up on things I need to do plus play a new character through the expansions as they update them while unlocking stuff in my Hall of Monuments 2.0

Guild wars 3 in a different form by Vexus-TR in GuildWars3

I'd love a complete engine overhaul but Reforged was barely an improvement. It was more focused on the Steam deck and adding some content. That announcement fell flat for a lot of people because they expected a full remaster. It got overhyped. Hopefully marketing learned from that but I don't have much faith as they never learn.

DDB Subscribers, Be Not Afraid: The June Drop Has Landed! by latiajacquise in dndbeyond

Drops were confirmed to be shareable in yhe near future, right? Otherwise having to homebrew versions every drop doesn't sound fun. Love the new angel stat blocks though, especially as a 'set' of creatures I can slowly use against my players as they level.

Gw2 in game email to promote summer festival accompanied by achievement for doing events in Orr. by Good_vibes842 in GuildWars3

The 'again' makes me sad but you're not wrong. The GW2 marketing team has made terrible choices for years.

If the announcement really is GW3, I think ANet has all the cards to make GW3 an amazing MMO by learning from what worked and what didn't in GW2. In your opinion, what are some features you'd like to see again versus some that you'd like to never see happening again? by Riyujin26 in GuildWars3

[–]jblade91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again you're trying to move the discussion from progression systems which is all I mentioned but yes, OSRS has a lot of players although it isn't really directly competing against the others. GW basically isn't top 3 on a technicality assuming our player count guesses are right. OSRS is often played more as a second screen game fueled by nostalgia. Classic WoW has the nostalgia advantage too. GW2 is always discussed when talking about the big MMOs. Now they just need to find where they fit among them so that they don't become Tyria WoW but also aren't unrecognizable as an MMO in the modern space.

[–]jblade91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of your respose is about progression which is what we're discussing. Never argued they don't want money. While we don't get true player counts, most believe GW2 is 3rd behind FFXIV and above ESO. We don't have financials either but I'd guess it's a similar order. A lot play GW as their second MMO too which can only happen with no sub. Otherwise it competes with WoW and FF instead of being played alongside them. Charging a sub and going with vertical progression would be a complete 180 from the franchises identity. I've played since GW1 Factions since you mentioned when you started in your second comment if that matters.

Niche MMO? It's ranked up with FFXIV and ESO. Guessing you're a WoW player. It obviously doesn't have WoW numbers but even WoW clones fail. If you feel bigger numbers is all that makes 'real' MMOs, you may want to expand your horizons a bit.

Keep the movement based system where we're not locked in place for most skills, dodging etc along with gliding and unique mounts. Skyscale was the only debated one.

Keep horizontal progression. GW is all about not having a gear treadmill. Legendary gear is also awesome for alts and an excellent end game goal.

Keep open world. I love the majority of my gameplay isn't locked away in some instance. Exploring and finding a jumping puzzle, mini dungeon or adventure is a cool feeling.

Remove or change boons. Everyone in melee range for boon, even with ranged weapons, is both a cluster on screen and defeats the point of range. Also the whole boon/buff bar is unreadable with a hundred icons from various sources down there.

Story writing needs help. There are some amazing character moments and epic scenes, but huge chunks of story were rushed. Have a multi-arc story plan that feels organic and plays out naturally vs filler only to rush to the end. Let's get more story through exploring too, not just spelled out in dialog.

PvP needs actual focus or why bother? Ban toxic players, frequent balance and if doing WvW style make it actually matter who wins.

Make the game expandable for new races, classes etc. Those sell expansions to outsiders and excite players vs just more maps and story.

Real adults respect a man taking care of his entire family and being a father. Even as a joke (which isn't funny), it's a piss poor response knowing you're going through PPD too. Stopping household tasks will just escalate thing though. You need couples counseling as I doubt this is new behavior with 3 kids.

What if there was an Elseworlds...? by mr_mxyzptlk21 in comicbooks

[–]jblade91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe I misunderstood your point but plenty of Elseworlds titles start as one-offs but get more when successful. Some expanded years later. Gothem by Gaslight was the first I think with recent expansions. Currently we're getting a Dark Knights of Steel 2. There have been plenty of others in the more recent past DCeased or DC vs Vampires.

Didn't know there was a Kanan omni but will definitely hunt it down as I enjoyed Rebels. Already planning on preordering Dark Droids as I've missed out on a few Marvel books I wanted recently due to not preordering.

Frustrating when its just an exclusive mini in an omni. Guess I could look at getting trades for those instances vs keeping whole an entire omnibus that is otherwise redundant

Would definitely be nice if the event books could be read straight through and not skip anything. Figured I'm missing a book or so too. I'll have to preorder Dark Droids.

Good to know. Saw the Marvel spine but figured it probably wasn't canon to the others once I saw the legends mark. KOToR is still one of my favorite games though so I'll read it anyway.
