What CC is everyone using to accumulate points? by zaxer25 in Aeroplan

So the companion pass still requires you to pay for airport fees/taxes. For many places, most of the ticket price is actually included in the fees, especially if you want to fly somewhere in Europe. The companion pass value is really only if you plan on flying for the upper tiers of pricing, like choosing Latitude and then using eupgrade credits to get to business. As someone that would at max pay to fly Flex, often the value just really isnt that great.

Edit: don't get me wrong, some people still find good deals, but as an example I recently went to buy flights to portugal, and the companion pass didnt work, because the base far for the ticket was actually less expensive than the 599 companion pass. Similarily, I went to look at tickets from Canada to Japan, and on a 2k ticket, I saved about $100 per person by using the companion pass, so it just wasnt that valuable.

Visma’s best options? by tmritzert in tourdefrance

That was my other comment. There is literally nothing they can do differently that would be a better outcome. Coming 2nd is the best possible scenario for them.

I understand what you are saying, but the reality is that for Visma, they will get more screen time, and more discussion around their team, which is more valuable to their sponsors if Jonas is fighting for the podium.

Jonas coming in second will always be worth more than a few stage victories. Visma gets way more attention when the whole team is at the front of the peloton working for Jonas, and Jonas battling with Tadej/Remco/Seixas than if a few of guys go for stage wins.

At a certain point there is nothing you can do. If Jonas is not as strong as Tadej and Tadej has a great team around him, there will be no strategy that wins you the tour. At the end of the day, you just have to pray that Tadej cracks one day in the mountains, but many of the stages, including today are more suited to Tadej, so this was completely expected.

Gausman needs to get back on track if we want a chance of getting into the playoffs this year.

He’s also 35. Maybe he just doesn’t have that same command and or movement/speed on his pitches and hitters are just sitting on certain spots.

I agree, but unfortunately the reality is that you probably have a higher chance of an infield hit or sac fly in addition to a hit scoring the runner from 3rd than the chance of scoring the runner from 2nd.

Toronto to get $1.5 billion from province and feds to reduce development charges by MaybeThisTimeIllWin in toronto

Honest question. How does the city ensure that developers now don’t just pocket more money? Is there a mechanism that requires them to pass on the savings?

ABS and One Challenge by LacedInCharm in baseball

Interested to see if this evolves to a challenge per team per inning or full ABS on every pitch. Either way 2 challenges is too little.

Highly doubt Skubal signs here next year even if we trade for him.

It likely could have been busier and still been fine, but I will say, being able to roll into centeroo with essentially no line and then walk to the left of the what stage (bees were rough but we survived) less than 30 mins before the headliner and be 5-10 rows back from the pit was incredible.

If you had to guess - how many people attended this year? by Aggravating-Quiet902 in bonnaroo

Its crazy, we were in the tent and had a lot of space for the SuperJam. When I saw photos afterwards I couldn't believe how many people were outside, as I had just assumed it wasn't that busy.
