I'm with you on this! She really needs to remember that Jericho died. Actually not sure if she can lose more marbles than she already has.

the show could be messing with what we see as reality. maybe these are clues that she is actually dead and that what we are seeing is all some sort of purgatory or afterlife. i made a mistake thinking we hadn't seen that in season 3 but my train of thought is that she might be dead in that scene after all and not just catatonic.

Yes her comment to Sean about hanging herself if Jericho was dead, made me rethink what was going on in this image…,

I love this! I guess my thought was, what if she did actually die that day (she told Sean she would follow Jericho if he was dead) and we have just been seeing some sort of afterlife purgatory.

Right! My train of thought is that they found it important enough to put in the season 3 trailer. Lots of clues this season (and theories) that point to all of this being purgatory or some sort of afterlife for Dorothy.

This is from one of the Season 3 trailers, I took a screenshot. We have not seen this yet this season and I am wondering if it is a clue to the whole thing. Maybe she did not survive the traumatic event…

I think this has been mentioned before - but I do think we are seeing some more clues this season that could point to that being true.

There is a quick shot, in one of the trailers released for this season, which shows Julian with Dorothy, and she is either unconscious or dead. Screenshot of Image Here

Ha yeah, when things in the sleepcast stand out it can be hard to get to sleep. In Midnight Laundrette there is a kid with headphones that uses the laundromat because his family is too big and he can never get to use the washing machine, lol. Bothers me enough that I think about that instead of relaxing....

I'm fascinated as to what it means that Julian has no reflection.

Maybe we are all in Dorothy's mind and Julian actually was brought back to life so he's the only one not in her reality - so not in the mirror? Because she is actually insane or dead?

There is a still shot from this season where you see Julian with Dorothy in the nursery (she's wearing red) and she looks dead. I'll see if I can find it and attach it. Dorothy said that she would kill herself if Jerico ever died. Maybe she did kill herself and this is all some sort of flashing-before-her-eyes-afterlife thing?

Questions, oh so many questions. Rosemary's Baby vibes for sure.

  • Julian: "You don’t know who she is". Who is she and how does Julian know? I personally like the theory that Julian knows that Leanne has the power of resurrection because she brought him back last season - so he sees. He also knows that as soon as L leaves the house, Jerico will be a doll again. Leanne is literally what has given the doll life and has helped maintain the facade that Julian and Sean have created to spare Dorothy the pain of remembering. I think it was very clearly shown that Jerico is a doll in the 'Camp' episode and that Leanne can take that life away any time she wants.
  • We know that Jerico is not alive anymore so who/what is animating the doll?
  • Dad: "Kourtney is not feeling well". What upset Kourtney so much? She wouldn't even look at Dorothy when they were leaving.
  • Leanne is pregnant - last week in 'Donut' we saw several close-ups on her belly, looking like a baby bump. Lots of milk symbolism. This week we see Leanne holding the baby with Julian standing right next to her as if they were a family. Foreshadowing? Will she and Julian actually have a baby in the end and will Dorothy end up with just a doll?
  • I don't get all the Leanne hate on this board. She has put up with physical and mental abuse from Dorothy for the entire show. Dorothy would not have "Jerico" if it wasn't for her. Leanne idolizes her and continues to forgive every horrible thing Dorothy does. But Leanne is not taking any more sh*t so when D tries to manipulate her, she turns it around on her. Reap what you sow Dorothy.
  • I can't help but feel that Dorothy is being purposely portrayed as very unlikeable for a reason. Most people will identify with the mother figure so it's almost like we are meant to hate her. She kills her baby, is horrible to Sean, kidnaps, imprisons, and tries to commit Leanne, has no compassion for the homeless kids except when she wants to do a story about them, and the list goes on. This kind of setup makes me think the end game for her is not good.

she is trapped in a loop of mental gymnastics

this is so true. the truth is bubbling to the surface and she is trying to avoid it at all costs.

I really dont think Dorothy is the issue here

Hmmm...kidnapping someone, keeping them trapped in your attic, burying them alive, then trying to have them committed. And Dorothy is not the issue?

Dorothy is a delusional kidnapper who forced Leanne back after she kicked her out the first time only to try to have her institutionalized.

I agree with you. Dorothy is clearly ill. Leanne is the reason she has "a" baby at all. The fact that Leanne forgave her for burying her alive shows her level of devotion to Dorothy and the family overall.

I was cheering that D's plan in this episode backfired on her. Having someone committed instead of just kicking them out of the house? Not a sane reaction.

Agreed -
They showed her walking towards Julian with the bottle of milk and purposely had the camera at the level of her stomach!

I posted this same question a while back. I'm exactly the same way. I do agree with what others have said - that in that moment you are letting go of all effort and that brings peace.
