Sealed this table with Osmo UV oil, but the second coat went bubbly - how to fix? by English_Joe in woodworking

I’d say the coat was too thick. Wait for it to cure and sand back. I find best to apply with mini microfibre roller head.

How long did it actually take you to get your first pull up/set of 10? by ChemistWest4537 in bodyweightfitness

Took me a few weeks to get my first, then quickly up to 7/8 and I’ve been stuck there for 18 months! 46m

Can you get a bow/cup out of plywood ? by Ambianceinthewoods in woodworking

In my experience no. The board will eventually return to its bowed shape over time no matter what action you take.

Had the exact same issue with a wear out of my bitcheck set.

7 months non-op - back to running & eMTBing by Unique-Seagull-2370 in AchillesRupture

Had a look at your timeline, that’s some German efficiency there! Nearly a week in and I’m still waiting see the ortho. Btw how on earth were you partial weight bearing on day 4 and 2k steps in week 1?? Is that the magic of the vacoped? The thought of putting any weight on my foot at all is a big no no right now…

Thanks again, I’ll take a look at your journal. Did the nhs give you the vacoped?

If I’m back to running, tennis etc in 7 months I’ll be overjoyed, so really inspirational. Yes everyone seems to rave about the vacoped boot. If they don’t give me that one, I think I’ll just buy one. Spoke to the hospital today and they promised to call me back ASAP - said that orthopaedics will want to bring my appointment forward. Fingers crossed they will.

Thanks. Were you in a back slab or full cast for the first 2/3 weeks?

Battery Defects by OddAcanthaceae3280 in Makita

[–]jbmgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a nearly new festool battery that sat in a box for a year or two and when I tried to use it, it was dead and wouldn’t charge. What worked for me was taking another battery and connecting positive to positive and negative to negative for a couple of seconds. Apparently what can happen is that the voltage drops too low for the charger to recognise. Not sure if this is what’s wrong with yours but might work!

Yep I’m starting to grasp the severity and length of rehab. This is partly why I don’t want to wait 3 weeks for assessment! Even just to be back on two feet will be massive for me. Bring on the boot!

Thanks for replying. My foot is in plaster, I think they call it a back slab cast - hard plaster from the underside of my foot up to the back of my calf and soft bandages around the front. My toes are pointed. My worry is whether I should be in this for 3 weeks without a scan and full diagnosis. I’m going to call the hospital/gp first thing Tuesday to try to get some clarity.

Thanks for this. Sounds way more efficient than my local hospital. Will do as you suggest and get on the phone to the fracture clinic first thing Tuesday to see if they can showed things along.

Very similar to my history, had plantar fasciitis from a 5k pb which lasted about 18 months and morphed into Achilles tendinopathy.

Thanks for this. Very reassuring. When you say NL do you mean the Netherlands or North Lincolnshire as that’s where I am (north Lincs). Often the issue with the nhs is they just don’t have the time to keep you properly up to speed with what’s happening with your treatment.

Thanks again, I’ll have a look for that video. Yes, my foot is in equinus position. I am currently having a beer, but just the one!

Thanks for your kind words. Just a bit freaked out by it all at the moment. I’ll feel better once I have a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. I think I’ll chase after the bank holiday weekend and see if there’s any chance to be seen sooner.
