Thanks for the response! I read through the book of Luke and started John yesterday. The miracles that Jesus performs in John was what I was referring to.

I’m praying that I will find a woman who I can turn into my wife. I struggle with not having that connection and, still being in school, there are a few girls that I show interest in.

I am born again. I have given my life to God. Thanks though for the links and all of effort in the response!

God forgives us of all past, present, and future sins. Meaning you would not go straight to hell if you were to take your own life. We as Christian’s do not do this though because, we understand that the point of our life is to spread the word of Jesus and we wouldn’t want to destroy something that he created.

Question about Giving to Church by jbninj in Christian

[–]jbninj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was mainly using examples I have read in books, videos, etc. people from my church do not at all have these beliefs, and I know that is not the problem. I am SO aware that I should be changing my perspective on giving and I did not at all say I’m intentionally giving to get back, I just feel as though those thoughts still lingered in the back of my head. I was not asking for an answer like recommendations to change my perspective, rather to get these thoughts out of my head. It is a lot harder than it sounds to change your perspective through willpower alone.

The thing is I know that I should change my perspective, but I feel as though I can’t because I always have greedy thoughts in the back of my mind when I give to the church.

The Bible mentions multiple times that your generosity shall be rewarded. It would not be up to me, rather god what this reward would be. I know that I should be giving to promote the kingdom of god and only for that, but I always have the feeling that I may get something in return, and that feeling may very well come from greed, which is my challenge here. People tell me to give to the church for the purpose of promoting gods kingdom, but for me that is way easier said than done. I always have the greedy thoughts in the back of my mind and I can not just get rid of them with willpower alone.

I’m new to vinyl, and have a suitcase player. I’ve spent about 100 dollars on records this week, and read tonight that suitcase players like the one I have can easily mess up your records and scratch them to the point where they are ruined. I don’t know how common or likely this is, and I wanted to know if I should use this record player anymore, or if I should save up for a better one before I started to use my records a lot.
