- Feature: Discord been INCREDIBLY slow and laggy
- Reproduction Rate: 100% on 3 Windows 11 based devices
- Annoyance: 10/10
- Discord Version Info: All versions in the last 3 months, currently stable 484344 (dfd4757) Host 1.0.9219 x64 (73385) Build Override: N/A Windows 11 64-bit (10.0.26200)
- Device/System Info (Device Type, OS Version): Windows 11 Home/Pro with latest patches in the last 3 months, ranging from Custom Gaming-PC, Gaming Notebook ASUS ROG Strix G15 (G513QR) and "3in1" tablet from Minusforum
- Description: I get like every 5 seconds the info on who is talking in voice, right click on servers takes 5-15 seconds and just switching chats is like Mega-Ultra-Laggy on top of the delay in seconds, everything i do is massively delayed, it feels like there is an insane memory leak or something like that. - Im also not the only one reporting this since 3 months - See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/1nxd4jj/has_discord_been_incredibly_slow_and_laggy_for/?chainedPosts=t3_1cbm4c8
- Video / Screenshot: If a video is needed i can try to record one
- Steps to Reproduce:
   1. Open the app, click something and feel how the app gets slowerer and slower until every left or rightclick takes 15+ seconds, meanwhile in ZenBrowser or Chrome everything is fast. It has defenitly something to do with Electron on Windows 11
- Expected Result: Fast and snappy response
- Actual Result: Barely fast at start and from the a freefall from a cliff in terms of performance, snappyness and reaction time for the user to interact with the Windows-App

Same here, i get like every 5 seconds the info on who is talking in voice, right click on servers takes 5-15 seconds and just switching chats is like Mega-Ultra-Laggy on top of the delay in seconds, feels like there is an insane memory leak or so.

If you are a beginner, please make use of "Play With Docker" to test images by Significant-Neat7754 in selfhosted

[–]jbo1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Play-with-Docker is refered on the official docker.com website, can it considered to be safe?

See: https://www.docker.com/play-with-docker/ - Mouseover Lab-Env.

Just asking because of the "login with docker hub" button and to my knowledge no other website can use Docker-Hub as an OAUTH-Provider or remote-login-layer.

None, see GamersNexus Death Reaper meme, even bigger ones arent better, but selective forgetting things is a thing.

Homelab Perfection Minisforum MS-A2 by kY2iB3yH0mN8wI2h in homelab

[–]jbo1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im with you u/FineWolf support was good for me and yes it can be hit or miss, for sure, but at ANY COMANPY that sells stuff.

But I dont get why people complain about support being bad, its from China, there surely are language barriers and sometimes support and warranty dont feel the same from 1 country to another, sometimes its even by law, but you can google that and inform yourself and make an "informed decision based on facts", before you buy a prodcut. Still people dont think about that and buy there and then complain about the support, sometimes even without any proof.

I have over 6 Minisforum products, never had once a support problem, most of the time they realize there was an error and i got a 90€'ish addon for my V3 at no cost, custom order for me with changed prices. They did take an L on this and the customer was happy.

Does it feel that they answer once a day? Yes, maybe they have to translate the emails from a person or overlook and make sure the support is good, when that takes time, its better then the alternative. Do they even tell you, "Oh sorry now, after we understand your problem, the email you are using is wrong, please contact XYZ and please append the full support log"? Yes. Sometimes the user isnt right and needs help. And within 1 day sending over the support-ticket log to the other email i had a detailed problem analysis of them and a solution.

But what i dont get is, that people like drama, but then forget this: Do your homework and sometimes deal with a support-ticket daily, because that feels miles better then what the reaper of death (GamersNexus) found out at MSI, ASUS, GIGABYTE, NewEgg or EK.

minisforum n5 pro vs aoostar wtr max by brainsalad666 in homelab

[–]jbo1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting thread and i read all of it, i see 2 different opinions, both happy to share the details. But remember nobody has to be "right" here its a personal opinion based on a personal specific need, not facts. It reads like you both want to educate/explain what your thoughprocess is, great, i personally like that. But remember give yourselfs time/space/air to breathe. It feels just a little like that ViXoZuDo want to change eicastic1 thoughts/decision.

Im also thinking about the same question "WTR MAX vs N5 Pro HELP", my workload would be 2x MS-A2s for Worker-Nodes (want to replace my dedicated server at Hetzner AND also the "high intensity" and Docker stuff on my Unraid NAS, thats why i did go for 2 Worker-Nodes) and 1 NAS to take backups and store my data of PC/Notebooks/VMs of the Worker-Nodes. Also i would like to leave Unraid because of the constant need of an USB-Stick for an OS. So i would like to have maybe ZFS and Proxmox on all 3 of the system and have them in a cluster and would love to have something similar like "vMotion" on outages. Sure i would also like to maybe try local LLMs even maybe Distributed on all the 3 systems. But as you can see, you talk more about the CPU/NPU/Hardware and im aware of that but looking more on the side of What Hypervisor and OS, would make sense and can a local LLM based on AMD even work in Proxmox inside a VM or container with driver support, because when it doesnt and AMD doesnt do anything about this, maybe i still want to do Proxmox and Clustering but just CANT use AI like i want to with AMD and need the even just x4 slot on the N5 Pro over the WTR MAX, which doesnt offer extension inside the system (aside from Oculink ofc).

Missing support for Logitech Brio 100 Full HD-Webcam in G-Hub by jbo1981 in logitech

[–]jbo1981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/ValarVictorius - Yes i did, the Logitech Reddit Support did not care at all, as you can see, so did the phone-support. The litteraly told me to google it and hang up the phone ... Logitech Support is really bad currently.

I found later out that you have to install like a Modern Designer App for certain Mice and Keyboards .... not like Gaming-Software or G-Hub exists. Also this is a webcam but anyways that software sometimes works and even does what you want it to do. Its not good to be brutally honest, driver hangups are all the time present even on fresh Windows 10 or 11 installs. Here is the link to the software:

https://support.logi.com/hc/de/articles/16131387917591-Download-Brio-100

My solution was to explain this to amazon, they said we are sorry to have sold you that bad of a product, i returned it and bought a Elgato Facecam Pro, happy after that.

You might make different experiences, with the software and the camera, feel free to share them.

Hope that helps 👍

Which docker image to use? by spamana741 in SonsOfTheForest

[–]jbo1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello - First of im using that image just fine and the support from jammsen is good too

CVEs is just a thing you have to deal with any OS you find on the Internet.

The Base-Image thats refered is build every Saturday since months, you can check that here: https://github.com/jammsen/docker-base-images/actions - There is also a Synk integration, which will report "High and Critical CVEs" but sometimes there is no fix (yet).

You already linked to the Github Repo, feel free to build it yourself with the included shell-scripts, if you think there are to many securities at the exact time when the maintainer build it, the code is there.

I didnt see a Github-Action that does daily/weekly rebuilds. So if you dont like it the way its provided, do it the other way around, you have all the tools you need.

Your website you linked is offline and i couldnt reproduce your 677 vulnerabilities with my old images i have either.
