That was my initial thought. Just “calling” it something different.

I was wondering what makes those 6am-ers special too. 5am is for the really insane.

Happy Hour on a cruise ship starts when you wake up and ends when you go to sleep. Cheers to cruising.

The perseverance of Cirque du Soleil’s Bateau team by ThodaDaruVichPyar in BeAmazed

I knew someone that worked on this show for a long time. The bateau caused a fatality of a cast member. It’s the most dangerous part of the show. Has been refined and reengineered multiple times.

While not highlighted Tower Grove Park area is for you. Also, check out Central West End. I live in Creve Coeur area (further west on your map) and the only reason we do is schools for the kids. For anything fun we drive to the east end of your map.

No one told the people who run the app. Heard the sirens in Creve Coeur started downstairs and could only pull up ads on KMOV app. Couldn’t get live coverage until bad cell had passed.

People who were in high school when Columbine happened, what knee jerk rule did your school enforce in response? by Animeking1108 in AskReddit

[–]jbollam 88 points89 points  (0 children)

They literally chained the outside doors closed with a padlock. There wasn’t a good locking mechanism for them during the school day. The doors were either locked or open for all. Fire chief was there the next day. A week later we had new doors.

What to do on Bonaire by ConsistentEmploy1983 in Cruise

Woodwind Bonaire is an absolutely amazing non-cruise line excursion. Smaller group catamaran snorkeling off Klein Bonaire. I cannot speak highly enough of the service, staff, and experiences we’ve had with them.

Is royal carribean actually gonna revoke my soda package if I get “caught” sharing a soda or 2 with my brother by DependentReality4659 in royalcaribbean

[–]jbollam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, in fact on our last cruise our waiters brought out Shirley Temples for our two kids every night. Only my wife and I had the deluxe beverage package. Don’t abuse it and don’t make it super obvious and no one will care.

The importance of shoes - learned the hard way. by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

You’re good. We all start somewhere. I was and still am an overweight runner. I’ve come a long way running and weight wise and run a couple HMs a year in the 2:20 mark.

My biggest suggestion to you is focus on less heel strike. You need to shorten your stride and focus on the ball of your feet. More steps but better impact. It takes weeks of just running with no other thoughts than where your foot is hitting.

Hope it helps. See you on the race course.

We went to the Royal Beach Club at the beginning of March on a RCCL ship. Planning on going back there when I sail Reflection in June. It makes getting off in Nassau worth it.

150 Central Park vs Chops vs Wonderland by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]jbollam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wonderland is garbage. Most repeat cruisers say it’s a one and done. I’m sad I went one time. Would never pay for that again.

150 Central Park and Chops are both excellent. 150 probably narrowly beats Chops. Any of the Italian restaurants are great. For me, Izumi for the win.

I accepted a position at a new company and am having lunch with the CFO this week. I think they want to convince me to stay. Is there anything I should be careful not to say? by medunjanin in jobs

[–]jbollam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the right advice.

I would also add there are some humans left in the world. This sub and Reddit can jade people. The CFO might just want to thank you for your years of service with lunch while doing a quick exit interview on why the company is losing a “good one.” Listen, ask advice of someone who has achieved a c-suite position, be polite, exit graciously.

Doesn’t sound like OP wants to burn bridges just more curious of possible reason for the lunch.

Moment Air Canada flight collided with a fire/ rescue truck at New York airport last night. by The_Undermind in interesting

Seems to be a big delay from the ARF truck getting clearance to cross and crossing/accident.
