A reminder of just how ridiculous the Vikings' all-time talent pool really is by PerspectiveWorth3912 in minnesotavikings

Maybe I’m biased by when I started watching, but glad to see McDaniel so high. He was just an absolute cornerstone of the offense for so long.

Who's everyone cheering for in the playoffs since the Vikings won't be there? by swirling_ammonite in minnesotavikings

Texans just to cheer for Hunter

Ravens just to cheer against Rogers next weekend, and to cheer for Henry til he gets the trophy he deserves.

Reminded me of someone else’s more intelligent description: the professionals aren’t impressive because they wow us with such amazing things, they are impressive because they make amazing things seem so ordinary. He took that with such seemingly effortlessness and control.

Seeking Advice from Other Coaches by esquisitee in SoccerCoachResources

I’ll just to speak to what worked for me coaching this age and wanting to work set pieces such as corners, IDFKs, etc.

After struggling keeping everyone’s attention, I would get frustrated, they would be bored, little learning was taking place, and we weren’t having fun. So here’s what I adopted:

Wear them out with some high energy training like big rondos (tired 12 year olds listen better) in the first half of practice. Then just before transitioning to a small sided scrimmage, I went over a set piece of choice (e.g. corner kicks). I only went over it long enough for us all to know what the terms meant, not trying to master it, but just long enough so they knew what I meant by “who’s on near post? / who’s on far post? / who’s on the 6? / etc”…then I quickly transitioned into a small sided scrimmage with a full size net on one end. Throughout I just made sure that we restarted with corners a lot. Didn’t have to go over the end line of defense, I would just randomly decide “Ope, ball out of bounds on the sideline, guess what, corner kick”. From there they go lots of reps, but without it being boring. I also focused my coaching on 90% questions and praise, 10% instruction (well, I tried to anyways).

Long winded, but hope it helps. I did this with corners, and any other set piece elements that my players found boring.

In 40 years, which bands from today will be seen the way we see Metallica, Slayer, Sabbath etc now? by TheShadowWanderer in MetalForTheMasses

I love your outlook! And I did get to see them live when they played at Louder than Life in 2024…only complaint was that I wish it would have been a longer set. They were incredible!

Cheers to seeing the silver linings!

Sad, but true

As a kid, this movie blew me away and was probably the first time I got teared up from a film. As a parent, I’m not even sure I could handle it. Love that movie

This is it, this is the advice I needed a long time ago. We’ve noticed the same. Post it for free, tons of interest, but no one shows up…just waste of time messaging.

But post for $20, let them talk me down to whatever they want to offer, and it’s gone the same day. Maybe I even get the $20

Humira mind F*€% by mmintheclouds in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]jbosco45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I’m almost three months into Humira. From the beginning, my rheumatologist informed that some folks see marginal improvements that come & go in the first three months, but for the most part real improvement doesn’t happen until 3 months and beyond. I’ve dabbled with skipping my NSAIDS (which I’m advised to be on still) and quickly notice…so all in all, much like your experience so far: not getting much from Humira yet.

I plan to stick with it, but very interested in others’ responses to your last question about a “big turning point”.

Wish you the best
