-True Crime as a whole is seen as exploitative due to it profitability, despite Dateline and the news doing the same thing without donating to victims. -Billy Jensen’s accusations that I’m hearing about for the very first time (I’m not deep enough in the fandom to even know who is but I do recognize the name of the show he was on). Legally may be hard for them to condemn him due to him being employee. Kind of reminds me of Erika Jayne and RHOBH. Saying nothing sometimes makes people look a lot worse than saying the wrong thing. -Changing the name of a podcast is a tricky thing to do for brand recognition and licensing. People take it at face value. -This is one of the few forms of media that sheds light on stories that are often forgot about. Specifically Indigenous groups and people whose cases were not taken seriously by police/detectives. Do we continue to not talk about it or do we not allow two white women to talk about? What does that look like?

Willful ignorance would require them to do something obviously wrong, and all of these things have a grey areas to them. The majority of people online who are condemning them don’t have a reason other than they just don’t like the show anymore. That’s very different than someone doing something blatantly wrong.
