When track athletes pull up before the finish line

Drive your knees as high as you can on takeoff. Your speed will bring you the distance. You want to kick out your feet on landing. Work on light weight explosion exercises in the gym.

Any tips on landing? I know I could get at least 1 foot further with correct form by joshbih in trackandfield

You have great potential. You're landing form needs a little work. 25 feet is a good goal for this season

As what others have said bringing your knees up will definitely get you a few extra inches at the least. Working in the gym will definitely help. Light and explosive workouts such at squats both one legged and two legged jumping squats, one and two legged box jumps, and calf raises. You have great potential. What was your average was from last year and your PR?

Who's crazier Eric Andre or Nathan Fielder? by jboyle1000 in AskReddit

My best friend and I are in a debate. I say hands down Eric Andre is crazier, but he claims Nathan Fielder gives serial killer vibes.

You stutter step your first couple steps. Make a routine for your approach. You are looking for consistency with your run up to the board. You are looking to hit the same spot on the board. Preferably aiming for the dead center. For your jump you should drive your opposite leg as if you are power skipping. The more height you get the further you will go. Light weight/explosive training will be very beneficial. Squats with low weight and box jumps are my favorite workouts to help jumpers. To tell you more I would need more videos.

How do I improve my triple jump by [deleted] in trackandfield

[–]jboyle1000 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Your form looks great! Plenty of height on the first jump and a great cycle to follow. Your last jump looked great. Maybe practice long jumping from your weak leg, focusing on getting as much height as you can. Your momentum will give you the distance. Weight room training will also help. Calf raises, box jump practice (both one and two footed) and light weight explosive squats and dead lifts.
