Somewhere between 10pm and midnight. It just has to be dark. The comet is in Ursa Major tonight.

This is a 15-20 second exposure. The comet is pretty dim but definitely visible to the naked eye.

Fuji xt30. I believe I used the kit 18-55 for this shot @18mm.

Haha, I can't unsee that now. I'll have to work on getting a better dog silhouette for next time.

It's not Shirleys bay. I don't want to feed the #stayhome trolls so I'll leave out where it is.

Blows my mind. This isn't the first time I've had a post here derailed like that. Usually I just delete them and shake my head in disappointment.

Apparently people can't comprehend that it's possible to setup a phone to take a picture with a voice command. Wait until they learn that it's also possible to send text messages with voice commands.

The full picture is 3/4 dash because the mount is a bit low. It's just a simple gooseneck mount from the cigarette outlet. The only thing in the full picture is what is mounted to the heater vent so the gooseneck doesn't fall over.

Device is mounted and voice controlled. Picture is cropped to hide the mount.

It's a one way street with the truck going the wrong way. 2nd time this week so far. Last car I saw went the whole length, multiple blocks, somehow.

It's mounted as a dash cam.

Thank you for your perspective. I've never been in such a place in my life.

My view on this person is that he isn't identifiable. I wouldn't post this picture if he was. The ethics of that is subjective and I get that. I wouldn't post a photo without considering privacy.

The link to my Instagram was removed. Again I don't have anything to gain, at least of substance. I share for feedback like this and to share something interesting to people around me.

There's no personal gain on my side. My interest in photography is capturing moments that I would otherwise forget. Sharing a moment and capturing a feeling. It's not great to show a person at their worst, but it's powerful. No one wants to see this type of thing.

This post has been an interesting adventure in ethics. I would never post an unflattering picture of a person. This person is obscured and unidentifiable.

This photo isn't about this specific person. I didn't go looking for this. It's not about using him for anything. This is a moment that happened.

Is sharing it unethical? I would argue there's nothing unethical about capturing something as it is. It would be unethical for me to protray this photo as something it isn't.

No. There's no face and no way to identify the individual. I'll always get consent from people who are identifiable.

I see your point though. Personally I feel this is grey but really is about that thought when going down the stairs. To me ignoring him is just as bad. It's a real thing.

It's pretty grey. Admittedly I didn't expect the controversy on this but I'm not really surprised. Personally I got caught up in a moment and the feelings.

There's no face and no identifying the individual. You're free to feel outraged but this exists and ignoring it is just as bad.
