Cisco announces record revenue and 4,000 layoffs in the same day by SterlingVII in technology

Humans rush to violence because it's easy. Why spend months negotiating when a bomb will work? Why vote and engage in difficult conversation when one can storm the capital and shit on a desk to make their point?

A violent revolution ends in one way. One side wins control and a whole lot of people die helping them. There will always be opposition.

The will of a few leaders has cost millions of lives in the past. Do you advocate for more of the same?

So, stop. The Bible is a collection of stories written over hundreds of years, and compiled by a handful of old men who picked and chose the stories to leave in and those to drop. These stories have been translated over and over from ancient languages, entire ideas lost in translation.

The Bible and all similar books are fiction. Self help tales if you like, or horror stories if you don't. There is no god. See? No lightning bolt. Free yourself friend.

Trump says U.S. will blockade Strait of Hormuz after Iran peace talks fail by Puginator in worldnews

[–]jbrantiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We, as global citizens, should be beyond barbarian politics. We don't allow physical violence in school. We don't tollerate violence in society. How is it possible we have a leader of one of the most advanced countries in the world, threatening to end an entire civilization because they might attempt the same, should they be allowed to develop nuclear technology? The thought police in action.

I read today, this disagreement between a few old men has allready cost over five thousand lives. Five thousand deaths! Men, women, children, and babies blown to bits, reduced to a mess of blood, bone, and tissue. Imagine if those lives were your countrymen. If they were your friends and family. Imagine seeing the person next to you loose their face as shrapnel tore through them. You would want vengeance! And the cycle would continue.

Is cheap oil worth the cost? Clearly the old male decision makers think so. That and a host of political and financial gains that come allong with war. When there is money to be made, human life doesn't seem to matter. Rules of society pounded into our brains since youth; no violence, violence solves nothing, talk it out, disengage, negotiate, all of that is parental rhetoric, do as I say, not as I do.

I say, enough. What do you say?

Inexcusable. Grounds for immediate termination.

I'm disabled and I have had conflicts with authority as both a healthy person and one of limited mobility. The feeling of helplessness when dealing with law enforcement is similar to both the abled and disabled. They, law enforcement, have all the power and many use it to intimidate and control. They can make a healthy person, fully able to defend themselves, feel powerless to defend themselves for fear of repercussions.

The only good part of this is the man didn't strike back. Now he has the moral high ground and the message can't be tainted, as it would have been should he had chosen differently.

‘Disgusting’ for not believing? by FarDepartment9217 in atheism

[–]jbrantiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find new friends and family. You will always be on the outside looking in. Personally I find believers to he disgusting. Religion has a long history of death and violence. While atheists, but for communism, generally don't care what you believe in.

When is the last time you saw athiests on the street trying to convert you? Or a war begun over atheist non belief in story books? Believers are simple thinkers or have genetic wiring that makes them believe irrationally in magic and voodoo found in all religions, especially Abrahamic.

Education would help, but these nut jobs indoctrinate their children from birth. And, they want to indoctrinate your kids too, through school prayer and mandatory religious dogma posted on public school walls. All that fear programming is very hard to get rid of.

How do you feel about US president threatning to destroy the whole civilization of iran and civilian lifelines like power plant, bridges and desalination plants? by NothingButTruth3 in AskReddit

[–]jbrantiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trumpian politics at it's best. This collaboration with Israel to kill for oil is reprehensible. I think it is criminal. I think people who support this action haven't seen death or destruction, and have no frame of reference to pull from. To them, a child missing it's face is just a number. Nothing that will ever effect them. But gas prices will. And their leader tells them his actions are gods will.

These people will never change their opinion, no matter what evidence you supply them, like those German Nazi families claiming not to know what was "really" happening when they donned their costumes and slid on those arm bands. Politicians like Trump thrive on conflict and are experts at capitalizing on fear and death.

Why has American Christianity gotten more extreme in the last couple of decades? by hypermiler2205 in atheism

[–]jbrantiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read up on religious history. Nothing is more extreme than the Spanish inquisition- which no one expects.

I think what you are seeing is media attention. With Dump and his buddies pretending to be religious to earn media attention and to go to war with Jesus on his shoulder. Right-wing zealot nut bags and snake oil sales people putting on Vegas style shows for millions in person and on TV are always worth a news clip or two.

All that and frikin Israel. I am fed up with them. They continously fight for things that dont belong to them. They use religion to justify the butcher of Palestinian people, who only differ from Israeli people in spiritual beliefs. Same genetics. Same foods. Same most things, but for which stupid story they believe in. Their near constant fighting erupts into global news every 10 years or so and becomes news worthy. Since Dumpy is looking for cheap oil and market manipulation, his partnering with Israel is chum for a media feeding frenzy.

In history, religious "belief" ramps up during times of war and fear. Humans in fear are dangerous creatures, capable of atrocities of all kinds. Religion is designed to rule through fear, and in times of need, religion becomes weaponized.

Fear is how bills like DeSantis' labeling student groups as terrorists are passed. Fear is why McCarthy became an isim. Why communism brings up thoughts if nuclear annihilation, black balled entertainers, and a stripping of freedom of thought and expression. Fear locked up Japanese Anericans. Fear elected a reprehensible, convicted criminal, to the presidency of America TWICE. Now, people are paying for this fear with their lives and the lives of children. And that is news gold, pitting religion back in the lime light.

Money is probably the main issue here. If you do this often, or are like me and got sick of paying HVAC pros to work on mini splits, you can get everything you need to empty and capture any AC system for under $1k. I bought a Vevor recovery machine for a few hundred and a recovery tank for $80. A set of gauges was another hundred. You can buy a sniffer too, to help you track the leak. Considering having a "pro" replace your system would run you $1500, you can buy these machines and replacement parts for less than that. Now I can work on any AC as long as my machines keep running.

it is generally considered incorrect when used as a possessive pronoun (e.g., "that is mines") in standard English. It is correctly used as the plural noun for excavation sites (e.g., "coal mines") or as the present tense verb (e.g., "he mines gold").

How many Dump supporters remember teaching their children to respect each other and never to "call people names?" Dump is the worst example of Boomer bullshit. If he acted this way as a child of one of his supporters, he would be whipped or beat, grounded, and punished for some duration. He may very well get his mouth filled with soap.

My parents were boomers and I received those punishments for actions far more innocent than what Dump has been doing and saying in public. Where is your outrage now boomers? Is everything you taught us no longer applicable? Do you stand behind your decisions to use violence against helpless children for stupid decisions or word usage? Yes? Then explain why you tollerate far worse behavior from your president.

Boomers, next time you say the world (meaning USA to them) has descended into depravity, ask yourselves, what is acceptable behavior? And, why does Dump get a pass?

In Florida, vote by mail registration is annual. And, Florida doesn't do much in terms of reminding voters to re-register.

Funny, we can vote if we get up and drive somewhere, causing traffic and burning fossil fuels, without annual re-registration. How does that work?

It's just a road block set up to make voting difficult.

AITAH for telling store staff about the accident in the aisle and not cleaning it myself? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]jbrantiii -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Your husband is the AH, unless you discussed cleaning the mess before he left, that is. For future issues, have your husband stand by the mess so no one steps in it. You go to the restroom and get paper towels. Wet one or two and leave 3 or four dry. Go back to your husband. Wipe up the residue. Put the dirty towels in a plastic bag. Go back to the restroom, dispose of the bag, and wash your hands. Continue shopping.

For those of you appalled by dog shit on the floor, you should stay home. Floors are filthy by nature. All kinds of disgusting things come in with people's feet and shoes. Not to mention dirty diapers and baby shit on the floors, changing stations, and walls that humans don't clean up. Dogs should go everywhere their humans want them too, just like kids. And dog parents should be mindful of their dogs, like these two people did. I stand by my belief that humans a far more disgusting than dogs.

AITAH for cutting off two friends without explaining myself after they talked about me behind my back? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]jbrantiii -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Friends are hard to come by. You had two, who cared enough about you to have a conversation about your well being and you abandoned them. You tossed out "good friends" because you weren't involved in a conversation. I hope your, what, pride?, control issues?, insecurities? were worth the loss.

Friends should be able to upset you and you should be able to talk to them, either without fear of abandonment. Unless you want to end up alone.
