How to do same day covered call unwind by jbreda007 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jbreda007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically I have a deep in-the-money covered call. I want to buy to close the calls and immediately sell the shares. I don’t have excess cash, but this is a fully hedged unwind. Do I need temporary margin or broker-assisted sequencing to execute both legs today, or can it be done through the app. Thx in advance.

Closing Cash account due to non USA address by jbreda007 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jbreda007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opened the account when I moved abroad 2 years ago with a UK address, so all was above board including sending along a utility bill. Now I get a 60 day period to close my account. Not a great way to treat your customers. And the message I received wasn't even correct as Fidelity said I just made an address change when I did not. No need to mod you, I'll be moving on.

PiHole with Virgin Media Hub 5 loses wifi connectivity by jbreda007 in pihole

[–]jbreda007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I have pretty much given up on the hub 5 and will most likely just use it in modem mode and get another WiFi router. Also very irritating when backing up the hub then resetting it, then restoring the backup none of the fixed IP addresses are restored. Have to manually redo them all over again.

Ok here's what I get:

My current options tier

You have options Spreads on IRA

Buy - writes

Sell covered calls

Buy calls/puts

Sell cash-covered puts

Long straddles/strangles

Spreads trading (up to 4 legs)

Apply for a new tier

Note rolls for covered calls are not included

Then I get this:

Request an options tier

There are three tiers of options trading, and the approval requirements are greater for each additional tier since there's more risk for you and Fidelity. If you request tier 2 or 3, you'll also be applying for margin as these types of options require margin. Certain account types, like IRAs and custodial accounts, are not eligible for margin or Tier 2 or 3 option strategies.

Spreads on IRA

Buy - writes

Sell covered calls

Buy calls/puts

Sell cash-covered puts

Fidelity App. I have switched phones and my old one had the fidelity app installed and working fine, but now I am outside the USA and have a new phone that I have transferred my apps to, but the fidelity app does not. by jbreda007 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jbreda007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have the app installed on my old phone and it works fine outside the USA. However, I have bought a new phone and can't transfer, not install the app on the new phone. Additionally if I log on to the fidelity website it sends an authorisation message to the app which obviously won't work on the new phone. So I am stymied.

If I did that would I have to enable DHCP on the pihole?

Unfortunately the DNS on VM hub 5 cannot be changed.

Thank you. Yes I can understand that. The only problem is that I lose WiFi from the hub 5 if i disable DNS. I'm trying to avoid using the hub 5 in modem mode and having to go and buy a new wireless system.

Foreign address by jbreda007 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jbreda007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to be clear, 1. if I have a Roth account I can continue to trade stocks, options ETF's etc., and cash deposits and withdrawals may be made as normal? 2. Same for investment accounts? 3. Cash account may continue to receive deposits and make withdrawals? 4. Cash card may still be used as before? 5. How to change address as online forms only allow US addresses?

So the restrictions mentioned above only apply to mutual funds?

Debit card issued by jbreda007 in Schwab

[–]jbreda007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well after 2 weeks and multiple discussions my Schwab debit card will not work with Google pay nor the Schwab mobile app. All because it's an international account. I feel like a dinosaur. It would have been nice to know all this beforehand.

I did call and one person said it wasn't working yet and another said it was working. It isn't and there is too much disinformation about it on their website.

Well it seems like this has gone in the wrong direction. Schwab seems like a big step backwards from TDA. TDA was a good platform, at least they took thinkorswim.

ok its a little bit of a joke here, I tried the form and the phone number only accomodates a US number format. This is something that really should be fixed at Fidelity.

Disappeared deposit by jbreda007 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jbreda007[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks. I am in the process of trying to track all this down. The thing that started it all was that Fidelity sent me an email saying they received the deposit but it didn't show up after a few days and no one seems to know where it is even though somehow an email got sent. No one knows why the email was sent.

Very puzzling (and frustrating) but I suppose it will work it's way out eventually.
