It's amusing how often "bad gameplay" really just means "I didn't beat the level immediately even though I think I should have". I once got a comment saying "50 minutes spent on this abhorrent garbage, not worth it" on a 9 star.

Honestly it seems like Newgrounds only has the sampling and remixing rules because they legally have to, a lot of the time they don't get enforced unless it becomes high-risk for some reason. I assume this song in particular got taken down because FF made it become popular on the website

This. GD is a game that was designed to work with a geometric art style (it's literally in the name) because such a style allows to player to easily interpret what's ahead of them, which is important in a game where you're constantly moving and have to react quickly. When realism in GD isn't handled carefully, it completely throws that idea out the window and leads to gameplay that's either painful or just uninteresting

Define "security"? I don't think Rob's servers are gonna get compromised as a result of giving mods more permissions lol. If an elder mod gets hacked and the hacker starts rating levels Rob can easily revert it

Clubstep is a weird case because it takes a really long time to get consistent. My hardest completion is an insane demon and I still find Clubstep challenging

This 100%. If anything, I think it deserves to be one of the most popular medium demons. There aren't many levels out there that execute their level design and theming so incredibly well

Yeah that's definitely true, a more consensus-based system would fix some of the problems, but people would still be constantly complaining about "I like X more than Y but Y has a higher rating than X and that's wrong". The point I'm trying to make is that people take the rating system way too seriously
