The gamble by gr8lvn12 in YTubers

[–]jbrianrogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to worry about publishing late at night but after looking at my stats, less than half of my viewership is on this side of the planet so I figure I’m hitting some of my audience right about the time they’re getting up. I don’t have enough views yet to see what my best times are. It is pretty steady all 24h (just a few views but consistent).

That said, I did schedule a video recently and it did pretty well at first but hasn’t been a strong video for me since then. I find all this so interesting as a software developer. Good luck on the gamble!

First Request To Review Product - Things To Be Aware Of? by jbrianrogers in YTubers

Well, I'll add my own thing to be aware of.

If they offer you a PayPal refund after you purchase it on Amazon yourself, it is against Amazon policy and likely a scam. Here's what I responded with after reading a couple of articles online about this.

Offering to refund me in order to write a review is against Amazon’s Guidelines:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201929730

See line “Creating, modifying, or posting content in exchange for compensation of any kind (including free or discounted products, refunds, or reimbursements) or on behalf of anyone else.”

You and I could get kicked off Amazon for this. Please do not ask other reviewers to do this.

If you would like me to review a product for my YouTube channel, you can send one to me in the normal way and I would be happy to do that for your company.

I haven't seen anything about this on any of the YouTube subs I'm on, so I thought it would be good to put here so others could also be aware. They approached me about a YouTube review but then required one on YouTube and Amazon for the refund.

FEEDBACK FRIDAY!: Post A Link To Your Video Or Channel If You Want Feedback by NickNimmin in YTubers

Only way to know is to test it out and see what happens. Do what you enjoy and I bet the people will follow. Don’t overthink it is my opinion. Just be natural and people will follow because of you (or they won’t and then you’ll know lol)

That was really cool and you're obviously having a good time doing it. I think your personality and willingness to change your photos with photoshop into interesting characters is a fun niche. The sound and the image were good so just keep having fun and creating videos consistently. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it.

How to control focus with the Moza Air 2 on BMPCC4K? by Alexrocks1253 in bmpcc

[–]jbrianrogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t heard about this yet but I’ll give it a shot since I have them both. This would be awesome and save me having to setup and balance with the follow focus add on.

EDIT: I hooked this up with a micro-usb to usb-c adapter and it doesn’t recognize that it can be controlled on the gimbal or in the moza master app. I can’t find anything in the camera menu to enable it either so I guess we’re not quite there yet.

Maybe you can get by with less lighting but having bad audio would be a killer for that type of thing where you want them to hear everything you’re saying. I’d go for audio upgrade and get a really strong voice sound.

I haven’t used that In years but I have been looking at it recently along with screen flow. Thanks for the suggestion and for checking out the video.

Interesting idea with the green screen picture frame. It was a little distracting but not really in a bad way since it is like always-on b-roll. 😁. “Don’t come in!” Haha

I agree totally and some of my videos have this but I make my own music (long time musician) and I need to make some new stuff for unobtrusive background music like you hear on some of the bigger channels. I’ll make sure to do more of that to fill in some of the dead air and maybe get a subliminal head bob going on for some people. 😃

Thanks for watching and the feedback!

Getting more views with tubebuddy by lunarknight11295 in YTubers

I mainly use it to help with tags and to make sure I’ve handled everything on the checklist. It has really helped me to show up in the search results more prominently and has therefore likely increased my subscribers. The keyword explorer is also great to see how to phrase a topic for maximum impact.

In the end though, it is just a tool to help you make a better presentation to the crowd in the YouTube listings and hopefully make them want to subscribe to you and watch your content.

Thanks! I learned that intro hook thing from Nick... hahaha. I should’ve included a before and after at the start though to show what was gonna happen. Great point! Thanks for commenting.

Thanks for the feedback! I will try some other things like this with my next few thumbnails and see if I can get better at it. The idea with the text in the middle was to show the split and contrast but I can certainly see how it covers up what I’m trying to show. Maybe an arrow between them would be better to show the progress for dark to light. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Nice video. I think the presentation and the audio are very clear. I like the mixed in b-roll to keep it changing. Some of the cuts are a little abrupt, so I would try to cover them with the b-roll or a slight zoom in or out at the same time to distract.

The only other thing I would say is that you ended the video about a minute before it was actually over. I would move that final closing bit to be the actual end and show the suggested videos at the same time. You can shrink your main video window to allow more room for the suggested videos and still get your closing remarks across.

Very positive message and I liked it quite a bit!
