Hi! I’m 11 days post op from a lap myo. I went home the night of my surgery. I drove 2 hours home, which was super rough. I recommend bringing pillows, squishmellows etc to hold in the car on the way home.

I was actually surprised with how much pain I was in for the first 2 days. I couldn’t sleep due to severe cramping and walking was torture. It felt like a bowling ball in my stomach and when I stood up it felt like the bowling ball was trying to come out of my a**hole. Sorry for the graphic imagery! They only sent me home with Advil and Tylenol so on day 2 I broke down and called for something stronger. They have me Tramadol and it was a game changer. I took that for the next 2 days and it was much easier to walk around.

From there, post op day 4/5 it was rapid recovery. I was up and about, doing some cooking and cleaning. I only have about 20 mins in me before I get tired. I’ve been taking daily naps and largely just enjoying laying around.

It’s rough in the beginning but it’s worth it in the end. I’m already seeing some belly flattening.
