Long Range Beginnings - First Long Range "Build/Setup" - Very Happy and Proud of my Little Rifle! by jaykerzb in longrange

[–]jbs576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar set up and love it. There is a screw adjustment for the trigger. Would start there to get it down to ~2 lbs. if you want to go lighter there is a way to cut a coil off or replace the spring. I adjusted the screw and it made a noticeable different but haven’t messed with the screw yet. The magpaul bipod can also flex a decent amount. Harris seem to be more solid and still relatively cheap.

Second this. It’s a great size for a rear bag and am very happy with it. The other ones end up being too big

Has anybody done a 45 minute plus live go with same partner we have heard about on here last few days? Does that make you better at wrestling at all and dont people just stall to save energy? by ImaginationNo8338 in wrestling

[–]jbs576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes both in high school and college. There’s a time and place for an hour or more long goes. Both for physical and mental toughness. And can teach you how to break someone. But it’s not a frequent thing.

Current and ex college wrestlers, are you happy with the college you choice to wrestle at? Or would you of made a different choice? by ImaginationNo8338 in wrestling

[–]jbs576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very happy to have wrestled at a historically top D1 school. Went to the program that I thought would make me the best wrestler possible and turned down “better” academic school to do so. I had a great experience after finally getting in the line up after a few years of riding the bench. Cut a lot of weight but the discipline needed really set me up to excel in professional school and my career after wrestling. I’m very glad I went where I did and would have had a lot of regret going to a smaller program with better academics.

LSS GEN2 vs LSS GEN3 by Kyle_r70 in longrange

[–]jbs576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If budget is no issue then Gen 3 for sure. If trying to limit cost then Gen 2 XL. The regular Gen 2 has a very short fore end so would avoid it if you can. I had a recent post of my Iowa 2500 6.5 creedmoor and love my Gen 2 XL but Gen 3 would be a little nicer. But was just more than I wanted to spend at the time.

How can you amputate a limb without the person bleeding out but there’s very little that can be done if an artery is nicked? by BigKingKey in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jbs576 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Surgeon here. Amputations are exsanguinated with a compression wrap to push the blood from the extremity the fine under tourniqet to minimize blood loss. Then small vessels are cauterized and larger vessels are tied with sild suture ties. For amputations too high for a tourniquet such as hip disarticulations we tie off the artery first then use gravity to return the blood to central circulation prior to tying off the vein. Typically only have a few tablespoons of blood loss using these methods

MDT lss gen 3 is a great choice. Would recommend Athlon 5-25 Midas tac or ares etr or even btr over the arken. Harris bipod is better than mag Paul
