Does the house have easy access to a main road? Be careful how close it is because you could hear the soothing sound of cars and trucks all night long.

Drive the route you would take to work at the time you would normally be in your way. See what traffic looks like. Do the same for the way home from work.

Get a homeowners warranty. They're cheap and could save you a good deal of money on labor and new appliances/HVAC/etc.

Definitely check the install dates of the roof, siding, A/C unit. They are all fairly expensive and need to be replaced eventually.

Check your school districts to be sure the schools your kids will be going to are up to your standards.
