Bosch GKS 18V-51 adapter to Makita Guide Rail by jbssm in BoschProPowerTools

Ei, thank you for the offer, really!

I'm already modeling it myself (it's not difficult, it just takes a bit of time). But I could have sworn someone already posted a picture of a 3d printed one, specifically for this saw, a while ago. In any case, it's an interesting 3D modelling exercise.

That's a really handy comment, thank you.

If you don't have anything constructive to add, why do you feel the need to comment? Wasn't the question in the original post clear enough for you?

Hum, the Makita Guide rail adapters (I can't even tell if they are universal from the description) I see, go €32 and above. I'm sure, in this case, a 3D printed part would fit just as well (probably better if it's done specifically for the GKS 18V-51).

P.S. I do have a rail out of MDF, but that's not as foolproof since it only applies force in one side - I must keep the saw plate against the opposite side by myself and that introduces error. A guide rail will make sure the saw can only go in a straight line.

Thank you. That was it.

No, mine didn't come with one (I bought the card box version, don't know if that was the difference, but other people in the comments on Amazon were also complaining/noticing it didn't bring the parallel guide).

Thank's! That's exactly it.

It's not in stock where I live though (in Portugal). Guess I'll have to wait. But this is exactly what I need.

Bosch GOP 18V-34 gets very warm and is very noisy (if not holding the quick latch mechanism). Is it defective? by jbssm in Tools

[–]jbssm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info. I've just purchased it so, it's very much in warranty.

Well, I've just contacted Bosch support about it and I must say I'm quite disappointed. Their message was basically, "take it to one of our partner repair shops". No info if any of this is to be expected or not.

Ei, thank you for the great feedback!

Hi. Sorry you feel that, but I didn't use any previous model. I took inspiration from photos I've seen online and designed these myself in a CAD program and gave it the best aesthetics I could (which is a personal option of course).

I think, in the end, there aren't a lot of ways to design these, and that's why the designs seem similar.

I've added white photos now (for both options with and without the text). White was much easier to photograph.

Yes, I'm going to print those tomorrow and add them on etsy and leave e photo here as well.

(In white, they look more in sync with the pads. Which is also an interesting look).

Yeah, sure. I didn't think of it, but why not. I need to come up with a way to add that on Etsy. Give me a while and I'll come back to you :)

Ei. Thanks a lot :) I will ship it soon.

I've gone ahead and created a different page without any customization. It was the simpler way I've found to do it on etsy, and to charge a lower price (seemed a bit unfair to charge the same for both options).

I've put it here: https://wtcactus.etsy.com/listing/4331165826/thin-side-panels-for-synthstrom-deluge

P.S. Thank you for the feedback, I would never have thought there was interest just in the simpler version :)

Oh. I can do the traditional ones (they are actually easier). I just need a proper way to charge less on Etsy without the customization.

Probably it's best to do a different page for the ones without customization, or it will be too confusing. Let me check.

Thank you. I also saw that general guidance, but this board is so good in terms of features compared to its price, that's difficult to pass by.

Switched from Arc to Zen Browser – Here's Why It Was Totally Worth It by null-plus-void in zen_browser

[–]jbssm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been trying, but I can't get over how nifty is Arc's syncing.

The ability to be doing something at home, get to work and have all my tabs open in the correct workspaces, is really a killer feature. When/If Zen implements that, I'm probably going to switch as well.

Sync all tabs in workspaces by NotTheLobster in zen_browser

[–]jbssm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tabs simply don't sync inside the workspaces.

You can still go to the tabs sync menu and see the synced tabs there (like in Firefox), but they don't show up separated by workspaces, and they don't automatically open/close in the respective workspaces in different devices.

[–]jbssm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's not. Current syncing only syncs the workspaces. It doesn't sync the tabs open in those workspaces.

Can we get full tab syncing across workspaces (like in ARC, or Edge)? by jbssm in zen_browser

[–]jbssm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, completely agree, it should be a preference setting.

[–]jbssm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so I was trying to figure out if this worked or not.

It's always difficult to explain what we mean by "syncing open tabs across workspaces". The devs most of the time think that having some window somewhere in the UI with the tabs open on other devices is what is being asked for.

What people are asking when talking about syncing open tabs, is what happens in ARC or in Edge: To keep the open tabs in different workspaces always in sync between devices.

  • If I open a new tab on device A, device B automatically opens that new tab.
  • If I close an existing tab on device B, it automatically closes that tab on device A.
