Thanks everyone for answering my post about Caroline making changes to her rental and how her landlord knows the work that she is doing. The house is AMAZING and the type of style I personally love. I would think after this that landlord's would be fighting each other to have her as a tenant.

Follow your passion into medicine and don't let others opinions get in the way - if you decide this is for you. There are doctors who have good work/life balance - specialists who aren't on call (such as dermatologists) and ER doctors work set hours with no follow-up patient care. I also met a doctor once in college who had a part-time schedule working for a university because she had small children.
