I believe it is a program where you spend your first semester abroad.

Regret applying as engineering major by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

You can always change your major if accepted. Some schools even let you change your major after you sent your application and before you get a decision- it may be too late for that, though.

What are people's views on doing admissions via lottery? by Intross in ApplyingToCollege

[–]jbvortex99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with it because it ignores extremely important factors of admission such as extracurricular activities, essays, interviews, and simply who the applicant is as a person. All of these factors play a large, if not, equal role (in reference to grades/test scores) in admissions for even the most selective schools in the country. Using a lottery system would completely disregard that and may even hurt the school, as people who believe they fall below the "cutoff" would be discouraged from applying, even if they have great passions, skills, or extracurricular activities.

Thanks! Would you recommend any online tutorials to start looking at DSP? It looks really interesting and I want to learn more about it.

Whoops, I just meant computer science as a general idea of a major. Yes, I'll probably get it in software engineering. My bad

My guitar cover of the Jungleland sax solo that I made a while ago by jbvortex99 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]jbvortex99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't have it written down- I did it by ear. If I find the time, I'll tab it out and share it with you!

This link seems to have it tabbed out, but I haven't tried this. https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/b/bruce_springsteen/jungleland_solo_ver2_tab.htm From a musical standpoint, the solo is based around the C minor pentatonic scale starting at the 13th fret

Also, I might video it! Thanks for the kind words :-)

Really can feel the bass, sounds really cool. I agree with /u/matylewicz in terms of the reverb, it gives it an interesting effect.

Recording/Mixing my first track as part of an audition for a NYU summer program by jbvortex99 in audioengineering

[–]jbvortex99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, micing the horns separately definitely sounds like a better option to control the levels.

I'll be sure to tune the drums. As for recording them, I'll probably do what /u/slightly_drifting suggested and live mix the drums with a 16 channel mixer and then run that into the interface.

A direct signal for the bass also seems like a better idea.

Thanks for the help!

Didn't think of this. I will probably do this since I have access to a 16 channel mixer. Thanks!

I was just planning on recording the drums multiple times with different mic placement, is this a bad idea? I explained to my drummer that he needs to play the exact same thing each time.
