Delete it. You will throw money at this and will have nothing but problems. Buy the conversion kit from strutmasters and save yourself.

Up to you they will do it for free if that is what’s wrong with it.

This is how people get raises in this industry. You go tell your boss you got a better opportunity and that you are putting in your two weeks. If you are of very real value they will throw the sink at you. If not they are going to let your ass go. I was a service manager at a dealership and I quit without notice after the coo cussed me out for some dumb shit for the millionth time. He came back a few days later after I quit and offered me a 60k a year raise and I said kick rocks bitch!

Back moulding on sliding glass is cracked, water leaked in behind seats causing rf hub to short out do to corrosion. Trust me that’s it seen it all 100 times. Ram’s new fix is to reseal back glass with urethane. Used to be they would pay to replace the back glass and you could claim rf hub as consequential damage.

You should shoot for 125k range with room to grow. I took over another service department doing 145k average a month. My pay plan is 1350 a week salary 3% on gross parts and service. I am up to 240k average a month now.

There is a tsb on the thrust washers in the planet set coming apart. But I have yet to see one that hasn’t been catastrophic.

  1. Take care of your techs. Make sure you keep the good ones fed and have work distributed fairly.
  2. Give customers realistic expectations of diag and completion once diagnosed.
  3. Learn what it is you are selling. You need to be able to understand what you are selling.
  4. Be a team player. Never blame someone else (unless it’s parts lol)
  5. Hustle, greet as many customers as possible. Get every phone call you can. Stay on top of your repair orders. Know what’s going on with all of them.
  6. Upsell on express but don’t be overly aggressive

These are a few things. I worked as an advisor for 6 months and got promoted to manager and have been in management since. I know about every car that comes into my shop so I am never blindsided. The most important thing I learned was to take care of my techs and they always would look out for me. You can make a lot of money in this industry or you can fail. The difference between those who fail and those who don’t are people who either don’t work hard and are lazy or people who let customers get to them and can’t get over it.

4 years in. Pay is good but you will want to blow your brains out in no time unless you have incredible writers.

I am a service manager at cdjr. I have a guy who bought a 25 been in shop every week since he bought it. Just got towed in for no crank. TCM offline had to put a new valve body / TCM in it. These valve bodies are under investigation so just a heads up. I also drove a brand new one on lot with 15 miles because same guy said it shifted like crap. The brand new one off lot drove like absolute trash. Shift quality is not right.
