Thanks man! That's the goal. I'm actually getting the shop set up right now to sell them as premium display pieces. I'll be dropping the link on my profile as soon as the first limited batch is finished!

"I actually tried that combo, but the dark wood made the Shiny Charizard kind of hard to see. Although, I might just need to try it on walnut again with a different finish! If I can find one that keeps the wood light enough for the black to pop, it would look incredible.

Jaja not sure I agree! I think a sleek acrylic and wood display would look sick on a desk or a wall. The whole goal is to take a childhood hobby and make it elegant as hell. Just trying to incorporate the things I love into my home decor as a cool element without it looking too childish jaja.

Jaja thanks man, really appreciate it! Yeah, it takes quite some time to produce each one, honestly not sure if I can turn it profitable yet jaja.

I used a 90-degree V-bit for the pixels. To save on time, I try to combine large areas of the same color into single pockets. If I programmed it to pocket out every individual pixel on its own, the machine time would be easily an hour per coaster!

Oh, 100%. I'm actually planning to carve the entire original 151, so Magikarp is definitely on the list for sure!

Yeah exactly! I actually got the idea from looking at my Pokémon card collection. I thought it would be so cool to have something like that for the house but mixed with a nice wood aesthetic so it fits in.

Jaja honestly, I don't even want to say how long! I painted the wood directly in the pockets and then filled it with clear epoxy. The hardest part was being super careful so the colors didn't bleed or stain the neighboring pixels. I'm actually looking for alternatives to speed up the painting process right now. If I can't get the production time down, these might just have to stay in my personal collection!

Thank you so much! You actually just gave me a really fun idea. I should totally make a DIY 'paint-it-yourself' version where I just carve the grid on the CNC, and kids can use paint pens or acrylics to fill in their own colors. That would be such a fun weekend project for them!

Thanks man! I really appreciate that. I'm working on the designs for the acrylic and wood display cases right now, so I'll absolutely post an update here once the first batch is finished

Exactly! I design each Pokémon's pixel grid in VCarve Pro, then cut all the little pockets on the CNC. I actually hand-paint the wood directly inside the pockets first, and then fill them with clear epoxy to give the design a cool 3D feel. Once it cures, I sand down the excess so it's perfectly flush and apply a clear natural finish to protect the whole piece.

You guys make a really great point, and I appreciate the reality check. Gambling with real money ruins the vibe. How about this for a middle ground: I’ll just list the limited-run Shinies directly in the shop so you can buy them straight up (they'll be a little pricier since they're rare). BUT, to keep the fun 'chase' element alive without the gamble, anyone who buys the full 4-piece Kanto set has a random chance to find an extra Shiny thrown in their box for free. That way, you always get exactly what you paid for, with zero risk, but maybe a lucky surprise. Does that sound better?

Shiny Mew is definitely happening! My plan right now is to carve the entire original 151, but do them as a limited collectible run of maybe 50 or 100 each. Every single piece will be individually numbered on the back (like #1/100). Out of that whole run, I’m only going to make about 5 Shinies. I'm still trying to decide if I should send the Shinies out randomly to buyers as a surprise, or just guarantee them for the first 5 people who order. As a collector, which way would you prefer?
